Hello,
The maths of quasi-parabolic reflectors is difficult for square ones and the
artificial gravity generated by rotating the disk so the cabins near the rim
are more confortable is easir for discs.
However many ET have artificial gravity not related to rotation.
Our world ships are cylinders approximately 10 miles long and approximately
five miles in diameter.
We don't come too close, you would atomise us.
Any way round is nice, why do you think our bodies are nearly a cylinder.
Aircraft are often dart or wedge shaped and we use stealth, however craft
designed for warfare are entirely different, one function is to panic the
enemy. The weapon launchers have to be mounted and so warships look
different.
We are not equipt for warfare.
