Object: Why are there multiple competing interpretations of scriptures?
If God could create an enormous universe containing billions of
galaxies with billions of stars per galaxy, and get it right,
why was he not able to inspire the men who wrote down his holy
words to WRITE CLEARLY?

The whole IDEA was to write in such an ambiguous way as to allow anyone to
read into it whatever they want.
Whatever anyone 'believes', can be found in the holy words with just a
little tweeking of the meaning.
It's called apologetics.

Because he does not exist.

One fine day in alt.atheism,
(David Canzi --
non-mailable) bloodied us up with this:

If God could create an enormous universe containing billions of
galaxies with billions of stars per galaxy, and get it right,
why was he not able to inspire the men who wrote down his holy
words to WRITE CLEARLY?

T'was Man that wrote all the holy books, of course, and in doing so
fulfilled his own desires. Which didn't match the desires and beliefs of
most others. These others, upon reciept of The Word, and geographically
guaranteed lack of opposition, made The Word into Their Word.
If "God" was real, this would not, could not happen. But if "God" was
real, there would be no need for faith, there would be no religion.
