Object: Why do atheists discuss God(s)
Often we get this question by theists posting here.
"If you don't believe in God, why spend so much time talking about
him?"
One answer is, atheists in alt.atheism aren't discussing god(s),
they are discussing BELIEF in god(s).
Why would atheists want to discuss belief in gods?
Why are healthy people visiting the "health" newsgroups to
discuss HIV, Asthma, obesity, and the flue?
When it comes to societies maladies, information is a primary source
for a cure.
Many of the atheists in alt.atheism are here to exchange and discuss
this information.

I started posting here because I felt all alone in my atheistic
beliefs and wanted to be around others like me. The main reason I
discuss God and/or belief in God is because the Xians bring up their
beliefs or try to dispute atheistic beliefs. Otherwise, "God-talk"
is just friendly banter with other atheists.
I think some atheists here feel they are fighting for the cause of
freedom from religion or would like Xians to be more intelligent and
thoughtful about their beliefs.
