Not really. We have actually not that much.
Canada and Mexico far outstrip us. The US
has large amounts of oil locked up in oil shales,
but that is expensive to produce. Canada has
immense tar sand deposits that are half as expensive
to produce. We get a sizable amount of our oil from
Canada and that will rise. Much of our offshore oil is
in very expensive to develop deep water.

Take what? Offshore oil in the gulf? China already told the USA they're
going to slant drill into those fields, so you'll have to fight China to get
it.

Why do the Chinese have to slant drill the round-eye's oil? Why not just
dig a really really REALLY deep hole straight down?

Truth is China buys contracts from oil fields, They seel ALL there oil to
china. It was in the news a couple weeks ago. China does little drilling of
there own. An no offshore that I know of, But I could be missing something.
So dont count on that last remark

Sheesh, when I see talk like this, I have to
wonder what's *happened* to you people down
there...
Why not just buy it on the open market, like a
good little free-market capitalist? A pipeline
that doesn't need defenders provides a lot
cheaper product than one with manned security
posts every kilometer...
Hey, we're more than happy to sell it - to the
highest bidder. Keep being the highest bidder
and you can have all you want.
You have one quagmire on your hands, and you're
suggesting you want *another*? Has Iraq taught
you *nothing*? How much oil could have been
purchased with those trillions you've spent so
far?
