crying to the repuglicons because you cannot stand tolerance and compromise.
There are many, many moderate/conservative members of the democratic party.
In North Carolina, f.ex, the state legislature, the governorship, and the
local government of its two most heavly populated counties are
democratic --- in fact, the democrats took over most of them this year. And
now in South Carolina republicans are moving to the center to stay n
power --- the ex-conservative attorney general, McMasters, f. exc., is
pushing for legislation to increase the state's ablity ot prosecute
corporate polluters, increase the penalty for drunk driving, increase
protections for spouses, and other things. Why?? Because people like you
have been seduced by the ultra-right wing of the party and the moderates are
fighting back angry.
When removed of the virtriol and ineciary language of the ultra-right most
people agree with liberal values. A few years of seeing people like you for
what they really are is enough to move states back to teh center.

They're verboten more because of 'tradition' and
long-forgotten social scenerios than on the grounds
of logic. Even incest - if not continued for many
generations - isn't a big problem. The State doesn't
forbid marriage/breeding between people with known
genetic diseases ... so why worry about the rather
tiny problems of incestuous breeding ? 'Tradition'
again ... and a bunch of speculative 'what ifs'.
Anyhow, I think the government ought not be
distributing material either pro or anti-polygamy.
Several countries vital to our interests accept
polygamy and issuing a blanket "That's BAD" will
NOT help diplomatic relations. If sheik YerBootie
wants five wives ... no business of ours. Besides,
ONE wife can be bad enough ... five and you'd go
grey by your 30th birthday :-)
