Nice snip, Barwell. The story was about how teachers unions shot down
Florida's school voucher program on the grounds that sending kids to a
better school meant that it wasn't giving them a "uniform" education.
Uniformly *BAD*.

- Kinky Friedman, candidate foer Texas governor.

Misleading, of course, because the governor of Texas does not have the
power to commute the sentence of execution unless recommended by the
parole board.

Well, in a recent poll over half of the respondents believed in creation

Even more disturbing was some years back a poll showed that 25% believed
that the sun revolved around the earth.

I used to have a two inch stack of newspaper articles delineating
Americans'
ignorance on about everything going back 20 years.
Heartbreaking. Most Americans are barely more intelligent than their
pets.

Ignorance is rampant.

Yeah. The way things are going pretty soon the Chinese will own us. Then
ignorant americans will be the cheap source of labor to make stuff for
them in sweatshops over here. BusCo and their buddies will just sit back
and count their cut.

Why teach them? Then they'd be smart enough to avoid being enslaved as
