Why the Israeli's are ***** scared of letting the Palestinians vote |
The reason why they call the West bank and Gaza Strip occupied territories
sometimes, and Israels land other times has to be examined.
You see the problem is, the Jews want the land but not the civilians who
live on it. The reason why this is so, Israeli minority can continue on with
it's fradulent "democracy" without giving these people a vote. No wonder
there is a uprising by the Israeli Arab population against a government
voted in by a extremist minority(the Zionazi jews)
It sort of reminds me of Iraq, and Saddam running the show with the support
of the minority Sunni's, while at the same time slaughtering the majority
Shiites. These civilians of Israel want a vote, and want a voice, but they
are being oppressed by a government voted in by a minority.
We should support this civilian uprising, something the Shiites tried to do
but failed. Hopefully these Palestinians will be successful.

Yes, it is an offence to urge people not to vote, but not voting is
itself an offence.
It is not an offence to cast an informal ballot. Nevertheless, to
urge people to cast an informal ballot is a serious offence.
I know of no other jurisdiction in the Western world where it is a
crime to advocate the performance of a legal act.

Albert Langer was imprisoned for breach of injunction/contempt of
court, but I wasn't aware that there was a separate offence for what
he did.

those who can vote is about 41,700 people, or about 85% of the adult
population. Not quite the low figure of apartheid South Africa, I'll
agree, but only a proportion of the people of the adult people of the
area. Somewhere like Sydney city or the electoral zone of Port Jackson
and the figure is 84,000 adult population 55,380 voters or 65% of the
population, still a majority of the adult population, but definitely
not "everyone" and certainly a very large disenfranchised percentage
of the population.

I thought the proposition was that everyone over 18 had to vote? Its
simply not true. There is no misrepresentation of the facts above. Is
it that you think that humans who aren't "Australian citizens"
(whatever that means, it seems to mean people who can vote), are you
saying people who aren't Australians aren't really people? Sort of
like Afrikaaners in South Afrika kind of thought niggers weren't
really people and people in the United States thought slaves weren't
really people? I'm pointing out that this class of disenfranchised is
35% of the population in some parts of "Australia".
Many people are simply not eligible to become "Australian citizens",
are not and will never be eligible to vote under current rules.
The exception for criminals is for people serving more than a five
year sentence, and there is also an exemption for people of "unsound
mind". That is not actually a very broad class of people in Australia,
but the crime exemption excludes a lot of blacks from voting in, say,
the USA. BTW "unsoundness of mind" does not include the inability to
follow the logical consequences of a broad general statement such as
"all people over 18 must vote", so you should be OK.

If the qualifications were not restrictive; why would they bother have
a law defining who could vote? They would just let anybody vote. And
in Australia that doesn't happen. People in immigration detention
camps, for example, cannot vote. People under 18 cannot vote.
Prisoners of more than 5 years cannot vote.
What do you call an elite? Surely they are a group with special
privileges and powers, not possessed by people outside the group?
That is a lie.
