I hate me, too threads.....but the fact is, after having done a little
searching, I found out why _I_ had never heard of him; he's a
"philosopher". That fucking explains it. Philosophy is, by and
large, nothing more than mental masturbation. The reason that most of
us haven't heard of him, is that he hasn't done much to pay attention
to.

Mr. Flew is not a scientist, and his beliefs are unimportant, as much
as the beliefs of the average illiterate street thug are, to me.

As far as I'm concerned, the difference between a philosopher and a
theologian is pretty damned small...and for someone to dedicate their
life to one or the other seems rather pathetic. Now, don't get me
wrong, I really think that these are things that need to have some
thought applied to; but just not as full-time, life-long _job_.
Basically, I view professional philosophers as just about as useless
as professional preachers/priests.
