What did Jesus Christ of Nazareth look like as a boy?
While no one knows for certain, forensic experts are now using
computer images from the Shroud of Turin along with historical data
and other ancient images to make an educated guess.
In a documentary called "Jesus' Childhood" airing Sunday night on the
Italian TV station Retequattro of the Mediaset Group, police artists
use the same "aging" technology employed when searching for missing
persons and criminals.

One has to wonder why they decided that someone who lived in Israel and was
born to a presumably jewish mother would have blonde hair and blue eyes....

One has to wonder why they decided that someone who lived in Israel and was
born to a presumably jewish mother would have blonde hair and blue eyes....
But their logic is flawless. Christ was decended from David,
which means he must have looked exactly like him, right? The Bible
says David was "goodly to look to", which means he couldn't possibly
have had dark skin or curly hair, right?
Of course, some might interpret Isaiah 53:2 (one of the only lines
in the Bible saying *anything* about his appearance) as meaning he
looked pretty much like everyone else, but that would me he looked
like a - gasp - Jew! and that clearly couldn't be.

P.S. I actually met one of the guys who dated the Shroud
of Turin back in the 80's while he was waiting to get the sample.
He was a religious man who really *wanted* the Shroud to date
back to Christ's time; nevertheless, he was too good a scientist
to deny the data at hand.

I dated the Shroud of Turin for a while. But we didn't have a lot in common.

"While some features, such as the color of the eyes and the hair's
length, cut and color, are arbitrary, others come directly from the
face impressed on the shroud.""
He could have been blue-eyed, or they could have been hazel. He could
have been blonde or red-headed. But at least they have the facial
features from a reliable source.

Of course the shroud of Turin was shown to have been made around
1500 AD by three different independent radiochemical dating services.

There were radiochemical dating services in the 15th century? And why would
they go into the (seemingly unrelated) business of forging shrouds?

And acknowledged as a fake even then by a bishop who wrote to the pope
with the details of the painter.
I honestly don't know why they keep dredging this up.

When they have nothing real, what else can they dredge up but frauds?

Oh, goody, an image based on a fake is going to tell us what a
mythological character looked like. I suppose that is only
appropriate.
