Once again, American Atheists is pleased to host the spectacular Winter
Solstice Meet ’n Greet on Saturday, December 17, 2005. Meet old
friends, make new ones, and join with us in celebrating the cycle of
the seasons! This special event includes an extensive Buffet Luncheon,
a program of speakers and an opportunity to personally meet with the
officers, staff, and many State Directors of American Atheists!

* DAVE SILVERMAN, Communications Director for American Atheists.
Your host for the 2005 Winter Solstice Meet ’n Greet. Dave Silverman is
Communications Director for American Atheists, and a leading advocate
for the First Amendment separation of church and state. He is a
frequent guest on public affairs and news programs, and has appeared on
CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews, ABC, CBS and other networks. Mr. Silverman also is
part of the “Great Debate” – Does God Exist? – a series of stimulating
discussions in debate format taking place on campuses and other venues
across the country. He is a prolific writer and operates the popular
NoGodBlog.com web site, one of the hottest Atheist sites on the
internet.
* ELLEN JOHNSON, President, American Atheists “What I Want for
Winter Solstice, v. 2005” In December, 1897, “The Great Agnostic”
Robert Ingersoll wrote a brief editorial piece for the Boston Arena
newspaper. It was title “What I Want for Christmas.” It was an
idealistic “wish list” emphasizing not religious salvation, but what
Ingersoll saw as necessary change to make our world a better place.
Ellen Johnson updates Ingersoll’s magnificent oration 108-years later
with her own list of what we need to do in the here and now to improve
the condition through the spread of secular values, free institutions
and human Enlightenment.
* KEN BRONSTEIN, New York City Atheists
* EDWIN KAGIN, Constitutional attorney, author, poet, curmudgeon
and Kentucky State Director for American Atheists “Baby Jesus meets the
Three (3) Reindeer Rule” The Supreme Court admits it – a nativity
creche on government land IS a clear violation of the First Amendment
separation of church and state. But if you’re a god-fearing public
official, what can you do to keep religious proselytizing in the public
square? Simple… “secularize” it with at least three (3) plastic
reindeer, some illuminated candy canes, maybe a Kwanzaa slogan or
Jewish menorah and (presto!) it will presumably meet legal muster.
Attorney and humorist Edwin Kagin explores this legal legerdemain, and
shows the absurd lengths some groups and governments will go to in
order to keep Baby Jesus in front of City Hall.
* FRANK ZINDLER is Editor of American Atheists Press, and a noted
linguist and expert on Biblical era languages. He is a former Biology
professor and the author of numerous books and essays. Zindler is a
member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; the
American Chemical Society; and the American Schools of Oriental
Research.

American Atheists Press authors will be signing copies of their
respective books.
Mr. Edwin Kagin is author of the best-selling Baubles of Blasphemy, a

veteran curmudgeon and First Amendment activist.
Frank Zindler is the author of numerous works, including The Jesus the
Jews Never Knew. This breakthrough study examines claims of the
historicity of Jesus Christ, and has been hailed for its insights and
thoughtful scholarship.
REGISTRATION for this seasonal bash is only $25 per person, and just
$12.50 for youngsters 3 to 10 (children under 3 are free!) The
