As I strongly oppose communism, I have to admit that it may have seemed like
a good idea to a lot of people at the time. It was a new idea and the masses
looking for a change bought into it. They had to experiment with it to
realize it was wrong. But why the ***** would they want to go back to a
medieval theocracy when they already know it was bad, from history books?
Why can't they just be dogma-free?

The level of education for the vast majority of poor dumb saps living in
Russia in 1917 was not all that wonderful. Most lacked the ability to read
and write let alone critique the works of Karl Marx. Many of Communism's
staunchest supporters in later years were not living under communist rule,
but places like France, Britian, and the U.S. -- trumpeting lies about the
Soviet Union's production output, and about the success of Stalin's great
public work schemes, and lauding the growth in general welfare of the
people. This, in the thirties, while Stalin's murderous streak was in full
effect... The only other individual to achieve more death and misery than
that creature was Mao Tse-Tung.
They had to experiment with it to realize it was wrong.
It was crap in theory. Anything that forcefully separates benefactor from
beneficiary so thoroughly as Communism does, has got to end in carnage.

I really don't know. But I do know that the Russian Orthodox Church has
been an integral part of Russian life for centuries. Even Stalin couldn't
rid the country of its hold on the people, or rather, the peoples' hold on
it; and he was an idiot for even trying. Brute force can never make people
believe your ideas are right and their ideas are wrong.
Sorry for the late reply. My weekdays are just so damn hectic at the
moment.

I mean to say, one has no right to anything one produces or the rewards
earned from it. Acting in one's self-interest is evil under Communism. A
person cannot be both benefactor and beneficiary. Anything that forcefully
separates the two so thoroughly as Communism does, will end in carnage.
