Object: Wonder Why All 19 Judges Sided With Michael Schiavo?
Let see... could it be because her parents put their religion before
their own daughter?
==================
"[At the 2000 trial] Schiavo's extremely conservative Roman Catholic
parents conceded that even if Terri had told them she would never want
to be kept alive with a feeding tube, they would not have honored that
request" [1]
==================
Hmm, I wonder why the court (a majority of whom, I might add, are
Republicans) did not think Terri's crazy Catholic parents would do what
TERRI would want for herself?

I reckon that if the girl requested everybody to pull the plug, then
that's ok. But at least she could have asked folks to inject her or
put her out of her misery almost instantaneously. By pulling the
nutrient tube and letting her waste away for nearly two weeks is damn
barbaric. Sure...maybe her IQ was as much as a tadpole at the
end...but she was still alive...a living organism. So starving her for
2 weeks is damn insane. I reckon that the people that authorised
pulling the nutrient tube should be placed in a cell and deprived of
food for two weeks ... just so these damn morons can get a taste of
what it feels like.

Hardly the same thing, is it? If you are brain dead, then presumably
by definition you are incapable of feeling the unpleasant sensations
that are associated with starving.
I agree that it would have been much better for them to use a lethal
injection, but unfortunately that's against the law. If her family had
done that they would have faced a murder charge.
Rather than criticizing them for ending what must have been a pretty
miserable existence the only way they were allowed to, direct your
annoyance at the people who refuse to allow the law to be changed.

That's the only legal way there. You aren't allowed to use drugs in
Florida. Which would you prefer - 50 years of not being able to see,
hear, talk or communicate or a couple of weeks of starving?
Apparently Terri made that decision before hand and several courts
believed it.

The theocratic federal governments been waging war against that law

That makes it pretty tough alright. She couldn't go up or down, but
just lie there and wait to die. Pulling the tube out was definitely
deprivation, and maybe similar to not feeding a new-born baby kitten
until it starves to death....unless they really had a brain monitoring
device to really show that her brain had absolutely no stimulus at all
to touch, pain, or anything else. In that case, it'd be like not
watering a plant....maybe.

Oh geez. No wonder.

I forgot to say 'in Oregon.' 'Asscrack' (former US Attorney General)
along with fundy members in Congress in other states did everything
they could to eliminate it. One of Oregon's State Senators 'sold
Oregon down the river' for the 'greater glory of his superstition.'
California had in place a medical programme where certain individuals
could grow and provide marijuana under strict State guidelines,
inspections, and record keeping to specific patients who had a
perscription only issued under strict guidelines.
The FBI, under orders from Asscrack, destroyed the operation and
arrested the operator "who was fully in compliance with State
regulations" under felony charges. I don't recall what the charges
were, but iirc he was convicted. I don't recall how many years he was
sentenced to under ***** charges.

The theocratic federal governments been waging war against that law
for some time and has been stymied at every turn.

That makes it pretty tough alright. She couldn't go up or down, but
just lie there and wait to die.

Worse, Shrub had signed into Texas legislation as governor
authorization for the state to disconnect life support from
individuals who's parents couldn't pay. The plug was pulled the week
before the 'Rethugnican Dog and Pony Show' on a newborn.

Data indicates the only thing still operative was part of the
reptillian part of the brain. Cat scans of Terri's brain and a normal
brain are online and there's nothing in the brain core. I found it
quite horrifying.

That's the only legal way there. You aren't allowed to use drugs in
Florida. Which would you prefer - 50 years of not being able to see,
hear, talk or communicate or a couple of weeks of starving?
Apparently Terri made that decision before hand and several courts
believed it.

Oh I see. Well, is there a way to get transferred to another state
that allows the use of injections and things? She could have asked for
that in advance, instead of making it hard for everybody.

How rude of her not to have planned her heart attack in a more
accomidating state.

True....but I mean that she could have written in her will or
something that she could be transferred to a different part of USA so
that she could be injected. Maybe they already thought of that, but
the law stops it...once again.

No, it's because the first trial is the one of jurisdiction. After that, all
judgments are to evaluate to see if the first court case was according to law.
The parents blew it on the first attempt. The next 18 were about a different
matter.
Don't you know anything, yang? Oh, I know - you were not allowed into the

So, getting a conservative Baptist Republican is blowing it?
Wrong again, Earl. The federal court hearing engineered by DeLay was
ordered to hear all the evidence. And they did.

Huh. Seems to me that Jesus told his followers how to pray in
Matthew, and it didn't require robes, incense, and gathering in large
groups.
In fact, the catholic mass really appears to be more in line with
praying in public so that you may be seen by men.
But, being Catholic, you ignore the Bible in favor of the whims of the
Pope.. who declared himself infallible.

Well, in the America I live in, judges administer the law of the land, not the
desired law of the religious.
I'm surprised you have a problem with that.

That's what I said. The other 18 judges said the event as tried was handed
fairly and according to law. If her parents had other information, they blew it
by not presenting it at the original trial.
Can't you read and comprehend?
Oops, forget it - I didn't intend to embarrass you.

He did rule by the law. Have you actually read his decision? He
cited the relevant statutes when it came to declaring Terri
brain-dead, and in granting Michael's request for the feeding tube to
be removed.
Show which laws he violated.

Gee, but I think you and I agree.
