Object: Woodward: Help, please
I was more than a little surprised & disappointed by Bob
Woodward's talk on "60 Minutes" tonight, and I was
hoping someone might explain something to me...
What we know from other sources -- and somewhat
confirmed by Woodward -- is that the Bush administration
began with an Iraq obsession. Woodward even described
how, after 9/11, Bush decided to put off dealing with Iraq
and to go into Afghanistan.
Woodward also described how Bush secretly appropriated
funds that congress voted for Afghanistan and used the money
to fund preparations for the war in Iraq.
He also talked about all the secret planning the Pentagon, and
Rumsfield in particular, were doing in regards to war with
Iraq.
But, it was the CIA's fault.
Sure Bush had always intended to invade Iraq, and plans (and
even spending) was already well underway, but it was bad CIA
intel that caused Bush to fly backwards in time and to spend all
that money -- robbing resources from our troops in Afghanistan --
on such a plan.
If it weren't for the CIA -- and ***** Cheney -- Bush would have
never built that time machine, flew backwards in time to September
of 2001, and announced that they had to postpone an invasion of
Iraq that nobody up to that time had even discussed... though they
were discussing it for many up already.
What the ***** is Bob Woodward smoking?
Yes, I know, he's not a "Liberal." I've heard that many times. Just
because the man helped bring down Nixon doesn't mean that there's
a liberal (or Democratic) shred in his body.
Nixon gave the store away to China, if you recall. The hard liners
never forgave him for that one.
I'm not saying Woodward was part of a "Vast, right-wing conspiracy,"
just pointing out the often-heard mention of the fact that he's a bit of
a right-leaning man himself.
Even so, he has a reputation to protect.
Why go on national television and contradict himself so badly?

Woodward just confirmed all the other accounts we have been hearing about
the anti-american right-wing magots in the white house.
It's time to impeach Bush and Cheney, they are traitors, murderers and
theives.

Yes he did, and at the exact same time he mirrored the official
Bush version of events. This includes:
* Blame the CIA for intelligence that came years after the decision
to go to war was made.
* Bush is oh so religious, though there's plenty of reason to doubt
his sincerety (read Al Frankin's book).
* ***** Cheney is a wicked big meanie head.
* Poor Donald Rumsfeld and Colin Powell were kept virtually in
the dark about the decision to go to war, though they both sat through
more than two years worth of cabinet meetings in which the eventual
invasion was discussed.
