Word of the week from UK Guardian... |
In last Saturdays "Guide" (which comes with the UK Saturday Guardian
newspaper) there was a leader about creationism and ID in the USA
The editorial intruduced a new term for the right wing, pro creation,
anti science "Wedge strategy" church brigade..
"Talibangelical"
It made me laugh... I think we should use it as shorthand from now on.

Spot on. I'd even call it, "Talibantastic!"

Fairly descriptive. I like it!

And they attend Talibernacle on Sundays.

Just curious -- if you get more than two of them
together, do you have a group of Talibernacleites?
People who want to share their religious
views with you almost never want you to
share your views with them.

I just thought this one should be shared.

Well, it isn't exactly short. In fact, it's something of a shibboleth.
And is it fair... well, maybe it is, but I don't know I'd say that it
qualifies as constructive criticism.
I'd stick with "Fundie" and use YEC as the litmus test for the other
craziness, since it all seems to go together. However, if there are
YEC Democrats or socialists, then, my bad.
Now I was led to believe that the word "taliban" is the local
equivalent of "bible college" but that may be incorrect.

The sky hung heavy over talk.origins with the anticipation of a new
day dawning.
It was 6 Dec 2005 07:39:06 -0800.
Suddenly, Mr Baggins appeared and said "Look, about Word of the week
from UK Guardian..., you see, it's like this:"
