Bush Picks Wolfowitz for New World Bank President
By Adam Entous
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush on Wednesday chose Deputy
Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, a lightning rod of controversy as an
architect of the Iraq war, to become the new president of the World Bank.
The selection threatened to set off a bitter fight on the World Bank board,
which must sign off on Washington's choice, at a time when Bush has said
improving transatlantic relations and America's image in the Arab world
will be top priorities.

Sorry I'm not Yang, but this move shouldn't come as a surprise.
First Rice, Bolton last week, now Wolfowitz? This is just Shrub
spending the "political capital" (read: taxpayer money) he was
babbling about. Expect to see more bullyi^H^H^H^H^H^H American
influence in foreign affairs, as well as more attacks on American
civilians and soldiers overseas. Don't be surprise if you see
Richard Pearle "rehabilitated" back into the junta.
And let's not forget Clinton's naming for the new head of the UN.
Before anyone says "But he's a dumbocrat!", remember that Hillary
is the frontrunner for 2008. If Clinton refuses to take the job,
it makes her look bad and hurts her chances; if he takes it and
doesn't follow Shrub's instructions, it makes her look bad and
hurts her chances even more. He won't be nominated to replace
Annan for the job, he'll be _drafted_.

This is consistent with Bush's style: provocative, in your face,

Osama and his #2, in their recorded messages at New Years',
already told the US how to achieve peace with Al Qaeda:
1. Stop the blind support of Israel. (They didn't say destroy
Israel, they just said stop the one sided bias.)
2. Remove US troops off arab land. That's it.
But of course, they won't, because both are against American

The US is the single largest supporter of *Palestine*.

Like we believe that they will actually stop attacking US interests if
we give them what they want.

You'll believe anything, as long as it's not in the US best interests.

From Wikipedia:
"George W. Bush has nominated Paul Wolfowitz, a well-known conservative
and current United States Deputy Secretary of Defense to replace Mr.
Wolfensohn [as president of the World Bank]. By convention, the Bank
president is always a US citizen, just as the Managing Director of the
IMF is a European, but there is no requirement that a nomination by the
United States government must be accepted by European partners. As
Michel Barnier, French Foreign Minister has commented: 'It's a
proposal. We shall examine it in the context of the personality of the
person you mention and perhaps in view of other candidates.'"
