Venezuela President Hugo Chavez delivers through Citgo cheap heating
oil to help impoverished and aging Americans this already-cold winter.
This, while our useless but selfish Congress votes down a measure to
increase funding for the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance
Program. And as Congress members pass a new $83 billion tax reduction,
that will of course benefit mainly their wealthy friends.
Although it's not possible or even feasible, most Senators and
Representatives deserve to be turned out of office for failing to
perform their utmost duty: serve the American public, which, fairly
or not, "elected" them.
Ask the hundreds of thousands of Katrina victims, the soldiers and
families of Iraq-based service members - dead, maimed, or without
adequate support, or the millions of poor and elderly in our society
who will suffer this winter - ask THEM if their Congress is looking
after THEIR well-being!
