Yangie-poos welcome the Food Nazis |
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/story/2007/08/31/cookies-walnuts.html
'Death by Chocolate' cookies could be hazardous
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued an allergy alert about
cookies sold at furniture stores in Calgary and Vancouver.
Bella Cucina's Death by Chocolate cookies contain walnuts, which are
not declared on the label and could be hazardous to anyone with nut
allergies.
Why not just change the name to Death by Walnuts? Or, if that won't fly,
Hideous Agonizing Death by Walnuts...

Sorry, but as no liberals are involved and Fred's own allergy does not
show,
his proposal is quite sane.
Surely if the hazard of eating these chocolates lies in walnut
alllergy
"Death by wallnuts" is quite appropriate, and the fact that it
contains wallnuts is made very clear.
Futher more I do not believe that Fred is making these post while
having sex.

If Phred doesn't understand something, he has to ridicule it.
Otherwise he has only two choices - don't post anything, or post
something that tells everyone that he doesn't know what he's talking

They sure can be. It is quite common to put ground walnuts in "rich"
chocolate cookies to raise the fat/oil level and provide a nice "mouth
feel". I don't know if you are trolling or really this ignorant of
basic food issues. If the latter you probably should not post on these
issues.

Exposure to nuts is. All it takes is a cookie to be baked on the same
sheet as a previous one which contained nuts. This isn't rocket
science, Fred.

So are you.
Actually, I am not. It is very possible for the walnuts to be
"hidden", especially if the cookies are not visible in the package, or
the nuts are in very small pieces. Hell, I buy Costco white chocolate
and Macadamia nut cookies, and on first inspection, it is not possible
to see the nuts. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to tell
us what is in the product.

Sure he does, but he doesn't see the big deal about not telling them

After you called people Nazis because you were too lazy or something
to bother to look at the product in question you have no cause to
complain about others. If you had the slightest bit of integrity you
would have admitted you were wrong when I showed you the bag of the
product involved. But you can't do even that.

I think it might be obvious to the casual observer that a cookie has
