You missed it! (Special Interest to non-Americans) |
Okay, so maybe you've read something from me or someone
else talking about the weird Coast to Coast AM radio show.
It's a late-night program in the best tradition of American
talk radio (most of the listeners are uninformed lunatics),
only this one specializes in the paranormal instead of
Reich wing politics.
Anyhow, someone created a fan site for the show --
supposedly not affiliated with the show itself -- which
includes discussion forums. Can you say "Grand opportunity
to debunk much"?
The website also includes links to radio stations that offer
live internet feeds, so anyone who was curious, but not in
the show's market, can now give it a listen:
http://gizaplateau.com/
What you missed:
The fan site recently changed its message board software,
losing all the previous posts. This means you missed your
chance to read my take on UFOs, George Noory, the
"Dover Demon," an alternative-timeline freak & a pro-pollution
(global warming denying) maggot.

We actually get that show late, late Friday nights (2-3am) up here in
Toronto on AM640. I had the misfortune of catching it about a week
ago, and am still speechless.
My absolute favourite was the gentleman who called in from "south of
Atlanta" and described - in great detail - how the reptilian aliens
running the Illuminati are in conflict with reptilian/human hybrids
who, for the first time ever, have been allowed to rule the Illuminati
as well.
Between the caller believing that crap, and the host eating it up, I'm
pretty positive I died inside a little bit.
If you want to hear some great debunking on the show live, try to tune
in when Bill from badastronomy.com is a guest. A PhD astronomer vs.
America's collective band of nutcases...make some popcorn, sit back
and enjoy. :-)

Now that's an interesting way of putting it..
And you've hit on why I think so many people
here -- and in talk.origins, sci.skeptic --
might be interested in the fan site with its
forums. You can reach a lot of people who
are exposed to paranormal "Experts" on a
regular basis.
Unfortunately though, the site is moderated
so you have to play your A-game. They don't
even want you to speak disrespectfully of the
hosts. It wouldn't be easy, and it might not
be as fun as usenet, but the potential for
the right audience of lurkers is there.

Seth what's-his-name from SETI is a frequent
guest. They even had him "Debating" some freaks.
