Bill and his wife were taking the trip of a life time. They were going at
last to see the Holy Land. Two weeks before they were to leave Bill's wife
sprung it on him.
"I've asked mother to come along with us. I think she would love the
experience and it could be the last time she will ever travel."
Bill knew it was no use arguing and meekly gave in.
They arrived in Jerusalem, booked into their hotel room and decided to go
for a walk down the main street.
They had only been out for fifteen minutes when a terrorist bomb exploded
about two hundred metres further down the street.
Mother-in-law immediately had a heart attack and dropped dead.
"What on earth are we going to do now?" wailed Bill as the ambulance took
her to the hospital.
While at the hospital the doctor explained the options they had.
"If you bury her here in Jerusalem it will cost you $150 but if you take
her home to Australia it will cost you $15,000. But it is your choice."
Immediately Bill replied," Home to Australia."
Rather stunned the doctor explained the options again. "$150 to be buried
here or $15000 to take her home to Australia."
Once again Bill replied, "Home to Australia."
Once again the doctor explained the options and again the reply was the
same from Bill.
Utterly amazed the doctor asked,"Why on earth do you want to spend all
that money when you can have her buried here for a fraction of the cost."
"Well," Bill answered, " you guys here in Jerusalem have a very bad habit
of burying people and they get up again in three days!!!!!!"
