(~) Things I do not want to do today
My friends like to forward "things" to me, and one of the "things" sent
to me was a called "Things I don't want to do today"
It was a list of chores and tasks that most of us adults need to do, if
not daily, at least on a frequent basis. And it was, I admit, rather
funny.
But it did "set me to a-thinkin"....
There's a bunch of things that I don't want to do today, but they aren't
"tasks"!
Today. I don't want to:
Return insult for insult.
Give a flippant answer to a serious question.
Hold a grudge.
Lose my temper.
Fail to give praise to God, or to another person.
Fail to let someone know how much they mean to me.
Pass judgment on another.
Take myself too seriously.
Be vain.
Be too humble.
Fail to at least try to be like Jesus
..
I am sure there are other things I could add. but the last item on this
lost may include it all......if I can just keep my "eyes on Jesus", and
follow where He leads, me maybe I can cease the worry about the "Do nots"?
Hebr. 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our
faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its
shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
