it is one thing to pretend that the bible is true it is another thing
to have to read the damn thing.

well it's a damn shame, because there is an overview message which combined
with life experience puts it all into perspective.
For example, if you were born in a Muslim based country and brought up as
such you would just as blindly think you were right because you wouldn't
know any different. The same reason why Ku Klux Klan members think hatred is
normal and there's something wrong with you if you are tolerant.
When you read the whole bible and see the whole context, you will see it is
NOT ALL the word of God, but some of it is simple history as in Chronicles
and Kings and Joshua. Let's not mix up truth with the word of God.
Context is important.
Just because it is in the bible does not mean it is acceptable and visa
versa.
For example, Jacob was a scoundrel many times, lying and stealing his
brothers blessing just to name one. King David, before he was king, was a
raider of villiages with his soldiers, stealing food at the edge of the
sword from the Philistine villages.
Yet God blessed these people.
God weighs hearts intentions and that is an important part of the message.
Jesus said, I tell you the truth and the truth shall set you free.
The truth was he was here to set us free from religious bondage and bring us
into a new age of enlightenment. Apostle Paul continues on with the
revelation that we can grow and what was once thought to be sin to us is no
longer sin in some cases, as in food sacrificed to idols.
It is not so much what you do, but why you do it. Intent is the judge of the
common and legal law system in much regard to sentencing. This is emphasised
with first second and third degree murder, which is planned, spur of the
moment and accidental man slaughter respectively.
Jesus also pointed out what we sow is what we reap and if we are critical or
judge others we will be judged likewise. Indeed he emphasised that we paid
back shaken down according to the measure we give, and applied to all
things, both good and bad.
Jesus forgave those who needed it most, the drunkards and prostitutes. He
pointed to the hypocrisy of judging others for doing deeds which they
themselves were doing in their hearts. That no one was worthy to judge
others, and that God would keep them all who sought after Him in spirit and
in truth, that is through the inner most part of their heart.
A message going around now, which I also testify is in character with the
true God, is one that all are loved and all are sought to be embraced by Him
in love, and the whole work of Jesus was to achieve this, whether they knew
about it or not. When they know about it, they have more benefits from this
and by faith get much spiritual power to prayers and so forth.
The Koran likewise emphasises that they should be good at hospitality to
strangers and brothers. Problem is that fanatics have muddied the waters to
say that their definition of infidel is a non believer, when in fact it is
the same definition as one from the bible, which is those who take advantage
of others, those which abuse the orphan and widow, those which steal and
kill and impose their will on others taking away anothers free will choices.
Mohammed even said, all come to God in their own way.
Jesus said, each must walk their own walk and carry their own load.
God foreknew it all and planned it. That is why we have a conscience, to
bear witness for us or against us as it says in Romans 2.
God wants us to love others as He loves us.
God wants us to release forgiveness to all.
The Koran says if they want peace, let them have peace.
Jesus says, love your enemies and feed them and give them water.
The message of all these is to help the needy, be kind to one another, let
the stranger feel welcome. And in doing so, we behave like God wants us to
behave, as brothers and sisters, even the children of God, and by our
example we show others that the way we live by is good for all concerned,
and must indeed be blessed by God Himself.
Yet we are all humans and all fall short of perfection. We have to be
mindful of when we start to behave too human and forget to have mercy and
compassion. We need to consider walking a mile in another's shoes to
understand their plight. We are told to be quick to listen, and slow to
judge, to stop reacting and take time out. All of these things are to over
come the human traits of being worked up, as we see with the radicals which
are doing the violence.
If we all would simply respect one another, we would truly have world peace.
And it wont be until we do that, that we have it with the Prince of Peace
ruling over us (prophecy of Second Coming).
The will of God can be found. Paul tells us how to do this, by pondering on
the eternal consequences which bring good to all concerned. That which
builds up and gives grace to the hearers. That which edifies and so on, that
we encourage one another.
Too often people get caught up on reading the holy book of their choice and
miss the overview of the theme of the spirit. Becoming legalistic they miss
the spirit of love which must always accompany truth. For it is not to
punish, but to forgive us and guide us to improve, learning by our mistakes.
Such is the true meaning of repentance, to admit an error and seek a better
way, and it can be applied to just about everything in learning.
Be the good Samaritan.
Do good when in your power to help others.
Priorities, make sure the balance of goodness goes around.
i.e. dont put money ahead of people's rights and living conditions.
The basic of God's message are simple. Don't get in other people's face. Be
kind and treat them as you want to be treated. But it only works if we all
do it and all are considerate of others. When we see that God loves
everyone, we might indeed try to do the same, and grow to be more like Him.

The prophecy of calculating the number of the beast has much evidence,
