man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd,
and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the
little ones.

life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd,
whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the
sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the
sheep.

fishers of men.

his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up
the chaff with unquenchable fire.
Matthew 13:24, Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The
kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his

bringeth forth much fruit.

--branches of a vine
John 15:5, I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye
can do nothing.
--a great tree
Luke 13:18-19, Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and
whereunto shall I resemble it? It is like a grain of mustard seed,
which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a
great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
--a good olive tree
Romans 11:24, For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild
by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree:
how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted
into their own olive tree?
--sand grains
Hosea 1:10, Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the
sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall

not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of
the living God.

and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of
heaven.
Matthew 5:44-45, But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them
that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which

the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the
unjust.
--soldiers wearing armour

--servants
Matthew 18:23-24, Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a
certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he
had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten
thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord
commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he
had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and
worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay
thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and
loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
--stewards of a rich man's wealth
Matthew 25:14-16, For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling
into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto
them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and

behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven
crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars
of heaven, and did cast them to the earth:

my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are
the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which
thou sawest are the seven churches.
