WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ME?
About when Jesus died
To read the Bible in one year, today read: 1 Chronicles 19-21
To Know:
³ And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom;
and the earth shook, and the rocks were split; the tombs also were opened,
and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming
out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and
appeared to many.² (Matt. 27:51-53)
J.F.K. breathed his last in Dallas, Texas. The nation spent a weekend
sitting before TVıs in stunned silence. The United States changed that day.
Our innocence was ended. President Johnson took us to war in Southeast Asia.
At home he took the final step in ending discrimination. Lincoln emancipated
the slaves on January 1, 1863. Johnson finished Lincolnıs work when he
signed the Civil Rights Bill. Out of that awful November 22nd in Dallas came
profound national changes.
When Jesus breathed his last, world history was profoundly changed. The
religious leaders of Israel entered the temple to find the heavy opaque veil
ripped in two from top to bottom. God had opened the way into his presence.
In the Old Testament earthquakes aptly symbolized the impending overthrow of
world empires. When Jesus died, the rulers of this present darkness were
deposed. The earth shook and the rocks split to publicize what had happened
on the cross. Worldwide authority now belonged to the man who hung dead on
the cross. Many lying in their tombs arose as a result of Jesusı death.
To Do:
Unbelief behaves as if the world lies under a question mark. Faith knows
better. Godıs answer is his Son. Of Jesus Christ Paul wrote, ³For all the
promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why we utter the Amen through
him, to the glory of God.² (2Cor.1: 20)
To Ask:
Father, on this day I will believe.

WHICH 'Jesus"?
The Bible depicts at least 3-4 different personalities
with that same name!
But if any of those were real people, they ALL died in
the first century C.E. -- L.
