Baptist pastor sentenced to jail time

The Rev. Kenneth Dennis, pastor of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in
Henrico County, will have to serve six months and 20 days in jail
because of convictions for driving while intoxicated and violating the
terms of his parole.
Dennis, 48, was convicted today of a second DUI offense and of
violating his parole from an earlier DUI conviction.
Judge Rodney Chapman of Henrico General District Court sentenced
Dennis to 90 days in jail, with 70 days suspended, fined him $500 and
ordered his driver's license revoked for three years because of the
second DUI conviction.
For driving under a restricted license, his second such offense, the
judge fined Dennis $250 and sentenced him to 90 days in jail, all of
it suspended.
For violating the terms of his parole, the judge imposed six months of
a suspended 12-month sentence related to Dennis' earlier conviction of
drunken driving and impersonating a police officer.
