The last time was during World War II -- the last justifi-
able (and ACTUAL) war that America was involved in.

So Rumsfeld's catching heat for his INANE and lame
statement, "you fight with the army you've got" when the
soldier asked him why the troops had to **scavange** for
scrap metal and glass with which to arm their "tinfoil"
vehicles. Then Rumsfeld made an even BIGGER ***** of
himself by citing the vulnerability of tanks, stating that they
can be blown up.

Of COURSE they can be blown up. Especially the way
OUR vehicles are armored these day. What Rumsfeld
**didn't** point out is that if they were *properly* armored,
FEWER of them would get blown up when impacted by
the **same** munitions!

I guess Rumsfeld is what we can expect to have gotten
for a Secretary of Defense, considering that he was appoint-
ed by an INEPT warmonger of a "president" who had to LIE
to the country (and the world) to launch his illegal invasion,
and who didn't even have the guts to ask for a...
DECLARATION OF WAR.

CLUE for out clueless "president" -- with NO declaration, you
have NO war. And the world very justifiably LAUGHS mirthlessly
at you while you BUTCHER tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis
in their own country, while getting over 1,100 of our OWN troops
killed off (and thousands more maimed for life) -- for NOTHING.
Repeat: for *NOTHING!* For absolutely ****NOTHING****!!

That having been said, let's consider that poor excuse for
armoring that we're giving to the troops.

What a shame that over 90% of Americans are too young to
remember our last **actual** war -- World War II -- the nature of
the enemy that we fought, and HOW we provided the sort of
materiel that our armed services both **needed** and GOT.

Want to find out HOW to fight a war and make SURE that
"the army the troops have got" is the army that they NEED?

It's very simple. Nothing to it!

Find any woman who is age 80+, and see if she had a
"Rosie, the Riveter" type of job during WW II.

Ask HER.

SHE'LL tell you how to provide our troops with the arma-
ments that they NEED. For **any** war -- real, or phony, like
the one we're in now.

Of course, there IS this **one** little eensy-teensy hurdle
that needs to be overcome when fighting a phony war, like
the one we just pulled a fore-warned (but nevertheless
criminally-launched) "Pearl Harbor" to start.

When fighting a war like that -- there's NO INCENTIVE
to pull out all the stops and **build** the materiel -- as there
WAS in World War II.

The "war" in Iraq is getting more and more SURREAL by
the day.

And Jacques Chirac is looking more and more to the world
as the sort of person REAL Presidents are made of.

He makes OUR sorry excuse for one look like a ventrilo-
quist's dummy by comparison.
