No, they do NOT. They want the very SAME rights that we
heterosexuals ALREADY enjoy in America. The right NOT to be
discriminated against by people who hire employees, just because
the employer happens to be a hateful and bigoted busybody who
doesn't know any better than to pry into the PRIVATE affairs of
other people.
If homosexuals do their job and don't use their positions to recruit
others into the sick homosexual lifestyle, I think they can work just
about anywhere they want to. Of course, employers don't want people
who represent their company as sales reps or customer service reps to
wear fruity perfume and mince around like fairies if they're men, or
to have buzz cuts and wear T-shirts without brassieres if they're
women. If homosexuals would just learn to act like normal people,
they wouldn't have so much trouble.
I've had several gay friends over the course of my lifetime, and
NONE of them fit those stereotyped descriptions. Not that there
aren't some who do (as we sometimes see in the case of some
extremists who do what they can to shock society in parades, which
doesn't help matters a bit. That serves only to give them a bad name,
and prolong and emphasize the sterotype.)... but they are just a tiny
minority. In all but a tiny percentage of cases, we "straights" would
never know that a person is homosexual unless they he/she were
to tell us so.
As for their "sick" lifestyle... well, it certainly isn't appealing to
me. Nor would what they do in private, sexually, be palatable to
MOST heterosexuals. BUT -- have you ever considered the likelihood
that *they* just might feel the SAME way about *our* sexual lifestyles?
With a difference. More of them are CONSIDERATE enough NOT
to voice that opinion, than is the case with heterosexuals,
percentagewise.
Also, why should employers take on the burden of providing
insurance for people who sleep around and spread deadly diseases
to twenty different people?
For the SAME reason that they do so for HETEROsexual people
who do that very same thing. They play the odds (actuarial tables),
and they money they take in, in premiums, averaged out over all
they insure, make their business constantly profitable. (In case you
hadn't noticed, the tallest and most elaborate buildings in most
cities belong to banks and insurance companies. They know
their jobs.)
If homosexuals want equality, they need to start behaving like
everyone else.
The vast majority of them DO.
What they do in their bedrooms is private. The trouble is, homosexuals
are sexually active elsewhere too -- in gyms, bookstores, bars, bath
houses, beaches -- you name it. They'll do it almost anywhere.
SO do heterosexuals. Ever heard of the "mile-high club?" Those
are primarily heterosexuals who get a kick out of getting it on in
airplane restrooms. In any case, wherever ANY of those people have
sex, regardless of their orientation, it's ALWAYS done in private, or
in the presence of other CONSENTING adults.
The right NOT to be turned down as a renter because the landlord
is EQUALLY stupid and bigoted.
Again, if homosexuals don't attract attention to themselves by
throwing wild parties and having a parade of sexual partners over
every weekend, why would anyone want to discriminate?
In the case of wild parties, the landlord would have a legitimate
concern for potential property damage, and would be entitled in such
cases to evict. But having multiple sexual partners would NOT usually
carry such a likelihood, so thus would be NONE of his business.
Some decent folk don't want sodomy going on under their roof. Don't
God-fearing Christians who don't want their children to see, hear, or smell
sick homosexuals in action have rights too?

on the West Coast were detained in camps. This was done to protect
them from abuse. None were abused or tortured in any detention camp.
American citizens of Italian and German descent weren't subjected
to degradation by consignment to internment compounds. The
