I was wondering What the best Version of the Bible is. Accurate yet
easy to read. I prefer the NIV at this time.

No other version could be Gods word.
First find the real version, then you should use it.

In the beginning...God led me to the KJV. :-).
If I'm not quite sure what the KJV is saying I find it helpful to cross
reference to the Amplified and sometimes the Message Bible (like the way it
is written), and then refer back.
But I find that the more modern the translation the more it is shaped and
suited to modern day morality and thinking. A good example is Acts 9:5.
Compare the KJV with say the NIV. 'Pricks', because of the obviously
connotation, went to 'goads' to be dropped completely, yet that verse speaks
volumes about the way God works in the human heart.
In my opinion there is no other Bible that compares with the articulation
and acuteness of the English language that is evident in the KJV. Its been
around for a long long time for good reason.

None are accurate all being based on early stories written down around 1,400 years ago

Personally, I suggest using more than one translation. I like the NIV
and KJV primarily but also have several other translations (both in
electronic and hardcopy form). I'd also recommend specifically the NIV
Study Bible and the KJV Study Bible.
You might wish to read some recommendations in an online article I
