Billy Graham |
I would like to honor Billy Graham by adding a portion of his writings
to the Bible Cannon. The Book of Billy would be a beautiful tribute to
the greatestt Evangelist since Paul.

It is obvious you have warm affections for him. But there might be a
problem with your request. First of all, we are not to go beyond what
has already been written. That principle is stated at 1 Co 4:6,
"Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for
your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying,
"Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in
one man over against another." (NIV)
Thus no more Bible books from God are going to be added at this time.
Second, all the things Paul and others were inspired to write were
based on truth. But there can be some problems of that with Dr Graham.
For example, at one time he made the statement that the Revelation
account about God's war, Armageddon, was literally going to take place
in the Middle East:
"Somewhere in time, the last conflagration will take place in the
Middle East,"
That is because the Greek word "Armageddon" mentioned there in
Revelation, literally means "Mountain of Megiddo". And there was a
city of Megiddo existing in the Middle East.
But the geographical region of Megiddo could not begin to hold all
"the kings of the earth and their armies." (Re 19:19) Also, the
prophet Jeremiah doesn't limit the casualties from the Armageddon war
as only being in the region of Megiddo. But rather he says that they
will be throughout the whole earth. Jer 25:32,33,
"32. This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Look! Disaster is
spreading from nation to nation; a mighty storm is rising from the
ends of the earth."
33. At that time those slain by the LORD will be everywhere--from
one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or
gathered up or buried, but will be like refuse lying on the ground."

Thus Dr Graham statements there are not based on truth. (and of course
there are others) Christians want the Bible to consist of only
"inspired" writings, which is what it is today. 2 Ti 3:16,
"All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for
refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness." (NAB)

I lost respect for Billy Graham, after he allowed the Clintons to
share the stage with him last year. Apparently, Graham is not
the man of Christian principles I thought he was at one time.
The lame reply I got from his organization further showed how
out of touch they are with fundamental Christian beliefs.

Yes it's a pity that the funadamental Christian god
doesn't drop out of the sky to sort matters out isn't it?
We know very well of course, that is an impossibility'
Him being an imagined thing an all.
So what does that make Billy Graham and his ilk?
