Bob Jones does not look to be as Conservative as the SDA school I visited in 2003! |
Looking at the BJU website and watching the videos and such. The school
does not look to be as legalistic as Weimar
(http://www.weimarcollege.com/indexcontact.html).
Weimar forbid sodas, pizzas, meat and other such food that I normally
eat. None of these foods could be found on campus, and eating them was
in violation of the campus rules.
They forbid baseball, softball, ping pong and other such sports that I
have played before.
They forbid video games.
Weimar was KJV only BJU is not!
Weimar did not allow guns. Bob Jones does not, but since my handgun was
recently stolen from me I guess I wont worry about it. But then again I
might buy another before I leave for the school. Its useful for self
protection. And you never know who anyone can run into on a accross the
country trip!
Weimar also banned guys and girls from mingling with one another. It
appears that BJU allows mingling.
Bob Jones will no doubt be more conservative than Simpson University,
but no doubt nothing like Weimar!
Such an environment will be good for me. I will be required to dress up
everyday, and will have many rules to follow. It will be like I am in
the military, and hard structured environments are usually what I prefer
anyways!
For me I need to be told that if I do not attend chapel or be involved
in church ministry punishment will come to me.
No doubt there will be drawbacks I will miss about Simpson and hate
about BJU however. One is their ban on watching movies. But this ban
may not apply to graduate students. But I will either be 29 or 30 when I
go there. I entered Simpson when I was 23 and graduated when I was 27!
So perhaps I should be treated more of an adult.
I kinda wish right after HS I went to one of these schools. But know I
have a backup computer degree that I earned when I was 22 instead!

As long as you're the same skin tone.
Does BJU allow Asians, Africans, and other "non-whites" to even ATTEND
their fine school?
I'm betting once you are there, you will hear "injuns", "niggers",
"Japs", "Spics", "Wetbacks", and other "enlightened" words.
(I'm TRYING to shake this guy back into reality)

Funny! I see no such rules and regulations in the New Testament!
Meaning if such rules had been the norm in Jesus' day, NONE of the
apostles OR our Lord would have had an education.

Yep, they treat you like a child. When is it that you become an
adult?
Sounds like Bob Jones and his boys suffer from some REAL control
issues.

Then you are admitting that you aren't grown up enough to make those
choices for yourself.
That is why you must get John Mac's permission/approval, or Joel's, or
Hank's, before you sneeze.
Go back and check the New Testament, BJ.
The Bible says we are to be mature.
