Bush Needs To Go |
At what point do we accept the fact that Bush has totally botched this
"war" he claims was so damn important? Do we really have to have EVERY
country in the world hate us?
At least in Japan, when a leader screws up as bad as Bush has, he has
the dignity to step down. Bush goes on vacation.
Bush needs to accept responsibility for his actions. This latest screw
up is reprehensible. We are clearly in far more danger of terrorist
attacks than ever. Bush has taken a country were a few people hated us
and turned it into a country where most hate us.

Yeah, and that's with the Japanese getting soft. :-) It wasn't
that long ago when a Samurai who screwed up "stepped down" by
means of a rather painful ritual known as seppuku. See
<http://www.samurai-archives.com/cultcat.html>, and in particular:
By the Edo Period, the act of seppuku had become a fully
developed ritual with Shinto undertones.
First, tatami edged with white would be set out, upon
which a large white cushion was placed. Witnesses would
arrange themselves discreetly to one side, depending on how
important the coming suicide was considered.
The samurai, often garbed in a white kimono, would kneel
on the pillow in formal style on his heels, hopefully in a
composed manner. Just over a meter behind and to the left of
the samurai knelt his kaishakunin, or 'second'. The second was
often a close friend of the deceased, although his duty was
not a popular one. His job was to prevent the samurai
committing suicide from experiencing undo suffering by cutting
the doomed man's head off once he had slit his belly. Botching
this duty could be a shameful disgrace, and a steady hand was
required. In front of the samurai lay a knife on a lacquered
tray. When he felt ready, the samurai would loosen the folds
of his kimono and expose his belly. He would then lift the
knife with one hand and unsheathe it with the other, setting
the sheathe to one side. When he had prepared himself, he
would drive the knife into the left side of the stomach, then
draw it across to the right. The blade would then be turned in
the wound and brought upward. Many samurai did not have to
endure this last, unbelievable agony, as the second would lop
their heads off at the first sign of pain. The cut carried out
to its finish was known as the jumonji, or 'crosswise cut',
and to perform it in its entirety was considered a
particularly impressive seppuku.
Needless to say, one's frame of mind was of particular
importance when approaching this act. The Hagakure and other
Edo works relate stories of samurai losing their composure
just prior to committing suicide, and in some cases having to
be forcibly decapitated. Samurai were, after all, only human,
and perhaps only through a lifetime of preparation could
seppuku be faced with the prerequisite coolness.
By these standards, Bush better not try to run on a "character"
platform this time around!

Good point. Maybe he can run on the "I'll do better next time"
platform.

The Constitution isn't perfect, but it's one hell of a lot better than what
we've got now. Cut Bush in November.

You need to vote your conscience. I have generally, but not always,
voted Democrat. While I feel Kerry will be a fine president, I'd like
other choices if offering those choices didn't mean an automatic win
for the Bush Reich. Too bad there isn't some way to vote for multiple
candidates based on which you feel is best, second best, etc. Then we
could have a number of candidates without automatically having the
robot Republicans win because they vote straight down the line.

agreed. I supported McCain last time and was going to write in his name
on my states Ballot - then all ofthe sudden writes are no longer counted
- then I settle on voting for Nader - but Nader was not on the ballot.
So we have Gush and Bore - one candidate on the ballot. Needless to say
I didn't wish to support a one candidate system ballot and so didn't vote.
Voted for Libertarian candidate in 88.
This time all vote for anyone other than Bu$hler - meaning Kerry (not
the traitor Nader who is an agent of Bu$hler obviously). Even though I
don;t like Kerry nor the Democratic party - they are infinatley better
than the Reichbuglicans and their Police State asperations.

See, I know exactly where I want to lead.................And we got
changing times
here in America, too., 2/8/04
"And that's very important for, I think, the people to understand where
I'm coming from,
to know that this is a dangerous world. I wish it wasn't. I'm a war
president.
I make decisions here in the Oval Office in foreign policy matters with
war on my mind.
- pResident of the United State of America, 2/8/04
"Let's talk about the nuclear proposition for a minute. We know that
based on intelligence, that he has been very, very good at hiding
these kinds of efforts. He's had years to get good at it and we know
he has been absolutely devoted to trying to acquire nuclear weapons.
And we believe he has, in fact, reconstituted nuclear weapons."
- Vice President ***** Cheney, on "Meet the Press", 3/16/03
"I don't know anybody that I can think of who has contended that the
Iraqis had nuclear weapons."
- Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, 6/24/03
"I think in this case international law
stood in the way of doing the right thing (invading Iraq)."
- Richard Perle
"He (Saddam Hussein) has not developed any significant capability with
respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project
conventional power against his neighbours."
- Colin Powell February 24 2001
"We have been successful for the last ten years in keeping
him from developing those weapons and we will continue to be successful."
"He threatens not the United States."
"But I also thought that we had pretty
much removed his stings and frankly for ten years we really have."
'But what is interesting is that with the regime that has been in place
for the past ten years, I think a pretty good job has been done of
keeping him from breaking out and suddenly showing up one day and saying
"look what I got." He hasn't been able to do that.'

Don't travel now. Bush has managed to squander, not only a surplus of

camps in Appalachian Kentucky -- and when I go home to annoy my parents and
kin, those who don't know me up there swear that I must live in Ohio, from my
accent. It's a mystery to me...;-)
True, same goes for NZ'ders, the accents from the South Island sound
completely different to those who live in the North Island. Alot of visitors
have a heck of time trying to understand "us fellas" ;-)

At what point do we accept the fact that Bush has totally botched this
"war" he claims was so damn important?
When he fails to capture Saddam and his two sons you can claim that
President Bush "botched this war".
Do we really have to have EVERY
country in the world hate us?
No country hates the United States of America.
You are confusing self-loathing American socialists who hate America.
Foreigners love America. So much so that America is half of their news
programs. They try to send their children to America to go to school
if they can afford it. Millions are trying to immigrate to America and
abandon their substandard conditions and opportunities. Some are even
risking their lives to get to America. Its clear the world loves
America.
Other countries hate America the way Americans hate Bill Gates. They
are jealous of his success, in awe of the performance of the product
but secretly wishing they had Bill's self made wealth for themselves.
They continue to buy Bill's software though, because they know its the
best product on the market for the price but to stroke their own egos
they complain loudly how the product is poor and Bill Gates is ripping
them off by "forcing" them to buy it.
You are also getting confused by the TV media and the Hollywood
liberals who are using the attitude described above to get you to
think people hate America so perhaps you will be frightened into
voting for their weak candidate for President instead of re-electing
President Bush who has demonstrated that he defends America against
all known threats.
At least in Japan, when a leader screws up as bad as Bush has, he has
the dignity to step down. Bush goes on vacation.
Presidents don't go on vacation you ignorant fool. Presidents are on
duty 24 hours a day.
Bush needs to accept responsibility for his actions. This latest screw
up is reprehensible. We are clearly in far more danger of terrorist
attacks than ever. Bush has taken a country were a few people hated us
and turned it into a country where most hate us.

Oh, you mean the latest "reason" for going to war... Let's recount:
1st: going to war to stop future acts like 9-11 (oh, wait, Iraq had nothing
to do with it and Sadam actually hates Al Kada (sp)
2nd: Weapons of mass destruction. (oh, wait, Iraq DID get rid of their WMD
over the 10 years of sanctions)
3rd: Sadam is terrible and tortures his own people!! (um... oh, damn,
wait... the USA is Torturing them too)
Do we really have to have EVERY

No country hates the United States of America.
I'd be "ROFLMAO" if this statement wasn't so scary. Obviously, this comes
from a hardcore fan of Rush Limbaugh who has never traveled the world or even

Oh yes.... so clear. Your reasoning above is this:
Ask people entering a church on sunday if they are christian and then
concluding that 100% of americans are christian and go to church every sunday.
Notice a slight flaw in your logic?
Other countries hate America the way Americans hate Bill Gates. They

Non Sequitor. Most people would like wealth, but not everyone loves america.

Bush has found the perfect boogieman.... something our leaders have been
looking for since the beginning... Kings, Indians, Mexicans, Slavery,

"terrorists".... whatever that means.
Bush is MAKING UP "threats"... Sadam had never threatened America or

I have been to Europe 9 times - England, Sweden, Norway, Germany,
France, Spain, Italy, Greece and turkey. I have been to Australia,
China and Japan. They all talk about America, they all love America
and they all make sure their kids can Speak English.
Since you accuse me of never having traveled the world, where have you
been?
Who is Rush Limbaugh?
Oh, and by the way, I'm a democrat but I will probably vote for Bush
this year because the Democratic Party leadership doesn't understand
the threats in the world today and is trying to raise my taxes.
Foreigners love America. So much so that America is half of their news

No. Your poor analogy is flawed. To salvage your flawed analogy I
would have to conclude that because so many Americans go to church,
America must not hate church but like church.
Other countries hate America the way Americans hate Bill Gates. They
are jealous of his success, in awe of the performance of the product
but secretly wishing they had Bill's self made wealth for themselves.
Non Sequitor. Most people would like wealth, but not everyone loves america.
Congratulations! You have stumbled upon the real reason. People are
jealous of America because America is wealthy. Period. The "hatred"
for America that you falsely claim is caused by "foreign policies" is
really anger at not being wealthy like Americans. This is caused by
Television showing the world a false view of America seeming to be
much more wealthy and sinful then Americans really are.
They continue to buy Bill's software though, because they know its the
best product on the market for the price but to stroke their own egos
they complain loudly how the product is poor and Bill Gates is ripping
them off by "forcing" them to buy it.
Microsoft abuses it's monopoly.
But you buy it because its the best.
It DESTROYS any competition so they alone are at the top...
and you buy it because its the best.
it's the problem with unregulated capitalism...
Unregulated capitalism created the Internet and the Microsoft
Corporation, both of which you enjoy as you blither your opinions on
the Internet.
once someone
gets so far ahead of all the others, it can stop all the others from even
trying.
Its a better product. Others are trying to beat it and have failed so
far. They should keep trying. Everyone wins in the end.
You are also getting confused by the TV media and the Hollywood
liberals who are using the attitude described above to get you to
think people hate America so perhaps you will be frightened into
voting for their weak candidate for President instead of re-electing
President Bush who has demonstrated that he defends America against
all known threats.
Bush has found the perfect boogieman....
Bush was presented with the perfect boogieman created by Bill Clinton
and Jamie Gorelick instructing the FBI to not investigate terrorists
in the united states.
Funny how you complain about Bill Gates and George Bush but you are
silent on this:
http://www.homestead.com/prosites-prs/wtcjumpers.html
something our leaders have been
looking for since the beginning... Kings, Indians, Mexicans, Slavery,
Immigrants, Uppity Blacks, Women voting, Communism, Drugs, and now
"terrorists".... whatever that means.
Whatever that means? Are you kidding? Look again:
http://www.homestead.com/prosites-prs/wtcjumpers.html
Do you not recognize a threat when you see it?
Bush is MAKING UP "threats"... Sadam had never threatened America or
Americans.
Neither did Hitler until it was too late. Saddam was smart like
Hitler. He only threatened people when it was to his advantage to
threaten them. Thats what makes Saddam so dangerous.
We used to consider Sadam an ally...
Saddam was never an ally. Thats just more liberal spin that you have
swollowed. Saddam was a useful player in response to Iranian terrorism
and acts of war against the United States.
even while he was gassing
Kurds.
So you admit that he had WMDs and used them on his own people.
Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 nor did Sadam work with (Or even
LIKE) Al Kada.
Terrorists hiding in Iraq killed an American in a wheel chair on a
cruise ship. No it wasn't Al Qaeda. Terrorists supported by Saddam
killed an American in Jordan. No it wasn't Al Qaeda. Saddam
supported the famalies of homicide bombers in Palistine. No it wasn't
Al-Qaeda. Saddam tried to murder the President of the United States.
Bill Clinton bombed Iraq in response to that attempted murder. Saddam
had you wrapped around his little finger as his hidden support for
terrorism threatened the world.
Funny how Bush Ignored North Korea, who, by the way, HAS THREATENED the USA
and *IS* developing nukes...
North Korea hasn't invaded any of its neighbors in 50 years. North
Korea hasn't fired missiles on the heads of civilians, hasn't murdered
its own citizens and hasn't fired upon American troops lawfully
stationed in South Korea at the invitation of the South Korean
Government.
Unlike North Korea, Iraq had fired upon American Troops who entered
the Sovereign nation of Kuwait at the invitation of the Kuwait
government. Iraq had invaded Kuwait. Iraq had fired missiles on
Israeli civilians in the process.
Are you so ignorant that you are unable to understand that while North
Korea was "talking and threatening" Saddam was invading and killing.
Do you still maintain the North Korea is the larger threat?
At least in Japan, when a leader screws up as bad as Bush has, he has

Does that explain why John Kerry used to ride a foreign motorcycle
before he traded it in for a Harley when he decided to run for
president and why he gets his money from Heinz's off shore factories?
If you don't think our invasion of Iraq has created more hate towards America
then the last 50 years of U.S. - MiddleEast policies you're deluding yourself.
No it is you who is deluded. You are watching too much Democratic
party spinning and commercial television sensationalism and the
arrogance of bribed French officials. You conveniently ignore
unanimous votes of the United Nations security council which state
that Saddam was a threat to the world.
I happen to know that the other middle eastern countries, all of them,
are happy that Saddam is gone after watching two neighboring countries
get invaded by Saddam. Some countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and
Qatar publicly supported the invasion and the rest supported it
privately.
Where did you get the idea that the middle east is unhappy with the
invasion of Iraq? Liberal TV perhaps?
No country hates the United States. If you see them complaining on TV
they are just working an angle to get something for themselves.
Politics is disgusting and you have been sucked into the rhetoric
hook, line and sinker.
James, Seattle
You are deluding yourself with TV images of 0.001 percent of the
population engaged in political demonstrations for the cameras who
wait patiently for their queue from the news producer.
