Bush's Fuzzy Math on Libya |
In the new conference, Bush said: "They could still be there. They could be
hidden, like the 50 tons of mustard gas in a turkey farm,", in reference to
Libya and using it in part to demonstrate how lying baout Iraq brings others
in line.
Excep that Libya had 26 tons, not 50.
Excpet that the substance was found at different locations across Libya, not
at a turkey farm
Except that observers did not find mustard gas on the farm at all, but
rather unfilled chemical munitions
Except that Libya began negotiation to disarm itself in 1999, well before
Bush's Iraq lie.
Other than that, Bush made a perfectly valid statement.
