Calvin, Child Executions, --- Ghosts, Flu Bug |
Hi Everyone.
I've been busy, and got a couple of new, interesting articles on the web I
wanted to share with anyone who might be interested.

Robert Ingersoll gave this speech on human history and their accumulated
belief system in spirits controlling [for good or bad], the forces in
nature, health and disease, and the hysteria that arises from superstition.
Ingersoll accounts a few of the autrocities committed, and some of the
absurdities believed by people in the dark ages.

I'm sure I'm not alone, but I've been down and out here lately. I got hit
with the flu bug --- really nasty fever... then it started out with lower
respiratory congestion, then upper respiratory, about a week later, as I was
blowing my nose, I got an air bubble in my ear that would not quit. By the
next day I had no choice but to go to the doctor, and she tells me my ear
drum is on the edge of bursting... I took a whole bottle of Augmentin
(antibiotic), which I think I had a reaction to, and felt like my muscles
were aching all over --- but I finished the bottle off anyway... and I still
can't hear out of my ear like I should... it was worse, the ringing isn't
quite as loud as what it was. Just when the cough cleared up, the sinuses
start messing up again, when that cleared up, the lung congestion set back
in. Then came that terrible sore throat, that felt like fire... and I
couldn't talk. I nearly used a whole bottle of Chloraseptic trying to kill
the pain... I gargled with Listerine, and put it down in my ears, to kill
out infections.... I've ached from head to foot... and finally, maybe, the
bug is clearing up... I've been down for about 3 weeks altogether. I've felt
absolutely HORRIBLE. My deepest sympathies are with anyone who's got the flu
right now.
