Cambodian king says gays should be allowed to marry
The Associated Press
Last Updated 4:59 p.m. PST Friday, February 20, 2004
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (AP) - After watching TV images of gay weddings in San
Francisco, Cambodia's King Norodom Sihanouk said Friday that homosexual
couples should be allowed to get married.
Since the Cambodian government chose in 1993 to be a "liberal democracy," it
should allow "marriage between man and man ... or between woman and woman,"
the king said in a signed statement in French posted on his Web site.
The king, currently on a medical visit to Beijing, also said that
transvestites should be "accepted and well-treated in our national
community."
Sihanouk is a constitutional monarch with no executive powers but is highly
respected in his country. Gay couples are not allowed to marry in Cambodia.
San Francisco has issued more than 2,800 marriage licenses to gay couples in
the past week, amid a growing debate in the United States over whether such
unions should be allowed. Sihanouk said in his Web site statement that he
saw TV footage of gay weddings there.

I guess being the victim of one of the most horendous violations of human

No! USA, being the most powerful nation on the planet, encouraged his
decision.
This is where the wrath comes in. USA is now leading all other nations into
sin and perversion, more so than Europe, because of it's position in the
world.

And I say put them to death for their degrading and abominal passions. So,
your point is what exactly?
1 Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not
be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor
male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders.
1 Timothy 1:8-10
We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that law
is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly
and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or
mothers, for murderers, for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and
liars and perjurers--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine
Leviticus 18:22
Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done
what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women
exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

Even though one government after another legalizes homosexuality between
consenting adults, does this make it right? Whether governments consider it
a private matter or a public crime is something for which they must bear
responsibility. But each individual must decide for himself his own attitude
toward homosexuality. Lovers of God, truth and righteousness take the
position of the apostle Paul: "Let God be found true, though every man be
found a liar."-Rom. 3:4.

The American Psychiatric Association and American Psychological
Association both agree that homosexuality is not an illness. Here's
the first paragraph of the APA's official statement:
"The research on homosexuality is very clear. Homosexuality is neither
mental illness nor moral depravity. It is simply the way a minority of
our population expresses human love and sexuality. Study after study
documents the mental health of gay men and lesbians. Studies of
judgment, stability, reliability, and social and vocational
adaptiveness all show that gay men and lesbians function every bit as
well as heterosexuals."

Are you aware, that within 2 years of that decision the APA had a huge
"gay caucus"? Does anyone *really* believe that they all just joined
within 2 years? Can you say "inside job"?
Are you also aware that the APA was admonished by the 106th Congress
UNANIMOUSLY for it's support of homosexual child abuse?

Why would someone have to believe that? Are you trying to say that
_only_ the gay doctors in both Associations came to that conclusion?
Exactly how huge was this "huge caucus"?
Are you also aware that the APA was admonished by the 106th Congress
UNANIMOUSLY for it's support of homosexual child abuse?
Myth.
http://www.haverford.edu/psych/ble/SciSoc/lilienfeld02.pdf
The 1998 study by Rind, Tromovitch, and Bauserman suggested that not
all survivors of sexual molestation suffered permanent psychological
damage. The APA did not by any contortion of the imagination "support
child abuse". The APA fact sheet on pedophilia unambiguously calls the
behavior "criminal and immoral".
http://www.apa.org/monitor/julaug99/as4.html
Your further addition of the specification "homosexual", which was not
part of the Psychological Bulletin article or the 106th Congresses
overreation, futher demonstrates that you are merely parroting some
random know-nothing talk-radio host and haven't actually examined any
of the facts.
*Still* think the APA has no agenda?
Well, all of the reasons you have to say they're biased turn out to be
flimsy and unsupportable, so yes. I still think that.
Still think they are the ultimate
authority?
"Ultimate" is a pretty strong term... Let's just say I think they have
more authority on psychological issues than your source, the 700 Club.

APA as in American Psychological Association. Completely different group.
Myth.

It should be noted that Congress wimped out on the matter. If they were
really serious, they would have passed a law stating that any minor who had
been a victim of adult-child sex has, as a result, a physical or mental
impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.
That's a magic phrase under the Americans With Disabilities Act. For
example, if underage sex is as damaging as the Rind study says it isn't, a
16-year-old girl who was persuaded to have sex with an 18-year-old would be
legally entitled to require that the College Entrance Examination Board
give her unlimited time to take her SAT. Instead Congress passed a
legally-meaningless resolution.

Have you considered that those who joined the caucus were there all
along. The simply did not wish to self-identify in a hostile climate.
Speaking of "inside job" just how big is/was the gay caucus? What
percentage of the total membership was in the gay caucus? It is always
vastly amusing to me that 10% [or in the case of those who seek to
diminish gays, 2%] of the population is claimed to be so powerful that
they can subvert the total membership of a professional association in
an "inside job" - tinfoil hats anyone?.

The schizos are saying the same thing.
They consider themselves normal, too. Doesn't make it so.
The American Psychiatric Association and American Psychological
Association both agree that homosexuality is not an illness. Here's
the first paragraph of the APA's official statement:
"The research on homosexuality is very clear. Homosexuality is neither
mental illness nor moral depravity. It is simply the way a minority of
our population expresses human love and sexuality. Study after study
documents the mental health of gay men and lesbians. Studies of
judgment, stability, reliability, and social and vocational
adaptiveness all show that gay men and lesbians function every bit as
well as heterosexuals."
Well, sir, they simply changed their minds without any additional
evidence or research? hehehe
There wasn't any evidence in the first place to suggest otherwise. The
APA simply removed an unproven assertion from the list of psychiatric
disorders
Are you aware, that within 2 years of that decision the APA had a huge
"gay caucus"? Does anyone *really* believe that they all just joined
within 2 years? Can you say "inside job"?
Are you also aware that the APA was admonished by the 106th Congress
UNANIMOUSLY for it's support of homosexual child abuse?
Are you aware the 106th congress have no business making medical
decisions. Normally it's called practicing medicine without a license.
What a dumbass. Psychologists don't practice medicine anyway.
The APA is the American Psychiatric Association.
you may now pull your lower extremity from your mouth
"Expressing the sense of Congress rejecting the conclusions of a
recent article published in the Psychological Bulletin, a journal of
the American Psychological Association, that suggests that sexual
relationships between adults and children might be positive for
children."
http://www.humanbeing.demon.nl/humanbeingsweb/Library/congress.htm
*Still* think the APA has no agenda? Still think they are the ultimate
authority?

Even though one government after another legalizes homosexuality between
consenting adults, does this make it right? Whether governments consider
it
a private matter or a public crime is something for which they must bear
responsibility. But each individual must decide for himself his own

The Bible does not call particular attention to homosexuals as a group to be
ostracized or hated by Christians. Moreover, it does not teach that God will
punish homosexuals-or any of his creatures-by burning them in a fiery hell
forever.-Compare Romans 6:23.
However, the Scriptures do set forth the moral standards of our Creator,
which oftentimes run counter to modern-day mores. Homosexual acts,
heterosexual sex between unmarried persons, and bestiality are all condemned
in the Bible. (Exodus 22:19; Ephesians 5:3-5) God destroyed Sodom and
Gomorrah because of such sexual practices.-Genesis 13:13; 18:20; 19:4, 5,
24, 25.

Even though some think their god does not like homosexuality, does
that make them right?
Top 12 Reasons
That Gays Should Not Marry
1. Homosexuality is not natural -- you know, much like eyeglasses,
polyester, indoor plumbing, and birth control.
2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. As we
all know, infertile couples and old people shouldn't be able to get
legally
married because, after all, the world needs more children to increase its
population of six billion plus.
3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children -- after all, straight
parents only raise straight children, right? Right?
4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage is allowed. I
mean, Britney Spears' 55-hour marital romp was so deep and meaningful.
5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at
all, right? (Oops -- I kinda forgot about "women are property," "blacks
can't marry whites," "only husbands can initiate divorce" and "birth
control is illegal.")
6. Gay marriage issues should be decided by people, not the courts,
because
the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected
the rights of the minorities.
(Say, didn't we vote on Brown vs. the Board of Education? Huh? No?)
7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours,
the
values of one religion should always be imposed on the entire country.
That's why we have only one religion in America -- the one true religion,
you know. (Just ask Jerry Falwell.)
8. Gay marriage will make people gay, much in the same way that hanging
around tall people will make you tall.
9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy
behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal
standing and can sign a marriage contract. Oh, and my preacher told me
this.
10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at
home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.
11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual
marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new
social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or longer
lifespans or men walking on the moon.
12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a
different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is
always constitutional. Separate schools and water fountains for
African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and
lesbians will.
