I cannot. I do have tears in my eyes when I read the gospel and from time
to
time during prayers or during the day. It is enough for me to indicate
that
I am quite ready for Christ.
Please pray for peace in the world.
Hello,
Did you know that you do that ("pray for peace in the world") every
time when you pray the "Lord's Prayer". It is this part:
Mt 6:10,
"your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
(NIV)
Yes, we are praying for God's "kingdom" to come here on earth. The
Bible uses the word "kingdom" here to mean 'government'. So Jesus told
us to pray for God's government to take over the earth.
But will the present human governments on earth just hand over their
political authority to God when that time arrives? The Bible says no.
They stubbornly want to keep what they have. So God will have to
DESTROY all human governments first. God told us this at Da 2:44,
"In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom
that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people.
It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will
itself endure forever." (NIV)
So yes, peace will come to the earth, but not by any human
governments. It will take Almighty God 'crushing' those earthly
"kingdoms" (governments) first.
Sincerely, James
