Just about every major religion has tried to some degree to 'map out'
the 'world to come'
Some do not go into any great deal of details, but others try to draw
street maps of the afterlife.
But since no one has come back (well! in a way we can prove) to give us
details, all that is speculation. So for the fun of it I offer my own
speculations.
1: If there is an afterlife, its most likely to be run by 'social
workers' and 'bureaucrats'
2: Since we as humans are pretty much little more than animals, the
idea that in one step we jump from 'frail human' to 'nearly divine' is
a bit much for me to swallow. There seems to be many 'steps' I can
envision between the extremes. So no jump from 'material' to
'non-material' without some pauses in between.
3: Our 'souls' are tied to our physical shape and abilities, too much
change at once, and we would no longer be ourselves. New abilities have
to come gradually to be integrated into our personalities.
4: The 'souls' of children shouldn't go straight to 'heaven' because to
develop personalities with any 'depth' they need to stumble, get
skinned knees and learn what is means to feel.
5: Reincarnation is not 'real' if memory and personality is lost. That
just permanent death by proxy.
6: When we get to the heart of it, perhaps there are greater hidden
mysteries, that more closely resemble political intrigue than the sort
of stuff religion usual describes as mysteries.
