Slain in the Spirit by Benny Hinn!

On the This Is Your Day program taped on a Friday morning at the Air Canada
Center, Toronto, Canada, and broadcast on Tuesday, July 30th, 2002, a Roman
Catholic Priest was invited onto the stage and was slain in the "fire" of
the Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn.
The priest, Father Carl Schmidt of the healing ministry of St. Patrick's,
Toronto, was slain in the Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn and knocked
incapacitated to the floor three times! A whole group of Catholics were then
invited to the stage, slain in the Spirit and knocked to the floor,
vibrating uncontrollably on their backs. You have to see this to believe it!

The Catholics are on stage beginning 16 minutes into the program.
There is no scriptural precedent for "slaying in the spirit". In fact, it is
contrary to the scriptural nature of the Holy Spirit to knock down or
incapacitate people, even briefly. Acts chapter 2, which describes the great
initial outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, doesn't have the
slightest hint of anyone being "slain in the spirit." The baptism of fire
(Matt 3:11, Luke 3:16) was a visible tongue of fire above the head (Acts
2:3) and not an incapacitating "electrocution." Slaying in the Spirit is
simply unbiblical, and should be considered a counterfeit! Scripture warns
about such deceptions:
Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down
from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Rev 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those
miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;
