That's why the fundamentalists are so pro Israel. Their OT is all
about the state of Israel, its god and its people. Their OT's latter
books i.e. Isaiah and Daniel are all about the hoped for future
triumphs of Israel and its god and devotees. The NT is all about those
hopes, a Jewish king, messiah, a Son of Man, Kingdom of God where
devotees reign and the conversion of gentiles, now full blown and
raised to imminent expectations. Jesus and his followers were shaped by
those hopes and as Jesus was fitted into those pre-existing Jewish
roles, Jewish king, messiah and lastly Son of Man as in Revelations,
they stived to convert gentiles and eagerly awaited their heavenly
rewards in the soon to happen Kingdom of God. 2000 years later, the
fundamentalists now eagerly await those same heavenly reward from the
god that loves them, the feel good psychology, and for that they
strongly support Israel in USA politics and aggressively proselytize
empowering the god of Israel and therby Israel worldwide in the real
world, the politics. The real politics enclose the feel good
psychology. Church goers for social and family purposes are the fellow
travellers. Fundies are very much drawn to their very much desired
future described in Revelations, Now as a red state power in the
politics, core group of the majority party, and foreign policy, a
Christian Zionist president, of the world's superpower. . . .
