Object: Converting believers?
Religion is based on belief for which the only evidence is faith, i.e.
unthinking, uncritical acceptance of suggestions usually delivered by a
preacher/hypnotist.
Since faith is the opposite of critical thinking and believer's
world-views are based on faith, there is nothing that can be done to
counteract faith other than, sometimes, replacing it with another faith,
i.e. conversion.
This can hardly be accomplished by the use of force, especially since
part of the belief system is a conviction that if your belief is true,
you will be persecuted. But moving from one belief system to another is
quite common. E.g. I have known some Christians who converted to
Communism or Nazism. I have also known many Christians who converted
from one Christian sect to another, or from Christianity to Judaism,
Islam, Buddhism, Hare Krishna, etc.
In fact most people who abandoned religion did so on their own, after
some serious engagement in studying it and using critical thinking.
Hence my saying:
THINKING CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR FAITH. -- L.

I have known some Christians who converted to
Communism or Nazism.
-----------------------------
1. JC was a pure communist.
2. But one does not convert to "Communism or Nazism."
Religions are combatible with both.
