A European team claims to have obtained the first direct image of a planet
beyond our own Solar System.
The "extrasolar planet" is said to orbit a star called GQ Lup - thought to
be like a young version of our Sun.
Similar claims have been made in the past, but sceptical scientists believe
the pictures merely show objects that share the same view in the sky.
The GQ Lup object is far more certain claims Ralph Neuhaeuser's team in the
journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.
GQ Lup and its companion are located in a star-forming region about 400
light-years away.

It's been a long time since I saw the documentary so maybe others

This is untrue. Mount Ararat in Turkey is relatively accessible to
tourists and scientists. The Turks tend to frown upon people going

The main problem the Turks have is the constant stream of christian

blocked
them from taking artifacts or geological samples, purely as an
excuse to
try to lay blame for not finding the ark.

. A few years ago CBS produced a special on Noah's Ark. The
investigators went to Mt. Ararat and allegedly brought back a piece of the
actual wood from Noah's Ark. The wood was subjected to scientific

Long Beach, California. Perhaps this was a harbinger of the Dan Rather

It shows the lengths that some people go to to bolster their

Now lads, don't judge too soon.
A group of Turks sold the crossties to a now defunct California RR.
Even with the shipping factored in, the price per tie was outstanding.

Well, the Chinese, the South Americans, the Indians and the rest all
would have written something like:
"Why is it raining in the middle of the dry season?"
"Rain for the tenth straight day. Things bad. If it doesn't let up,
we'll all drown."
"The water has reached the level of the Great Pagoda. Millions are dead.
The rain has not let up for nearly thirty days."
You get the idea, I think!
Furthermore, there would be extremely obvious geological evidence. Not
to mention all the genetic evidence within humanity's DNA. And dozens of
other pieces of evidence which we would see if a global flood had
happened.
The parting of the red sea so Mosses could lead his people across the
ocean seems impossible according to science. But either you believe it
or you don't.
No, not true. You examine the evidence and come to a conclusion based on
the facts, not on myth and legend.
Let's look at the exodus. Firstly, the Egyptians have no records of such
a large number of slaves running away. They also have no records of a
Pharaoh drowning in the middle of the Red Sea. They also have no records
of any of the diseases, plagues and disasters they were allegedly struck
with.
Secondly, there are many records of weird and wonderful things happening
all over the world at this point. Did you know that in China, a wizard
raised a mountain in a day around this time? That Troy was being sieged
by the Greeks and their god-concepts? The point is, that primitive
humans had very little understanding of the natural world, and also
embellished stories greatly.
None of that means it actually happened, or was in any way, a truthful
account.

The Bible and facts of the matter. In the Bible it says that the
animals walked back to their places of inhabitation...New Zealand is
an island nation in the south Pacific...we have a number of animals

There is enough information from any branch of science to show that either
it did not happen or it did happen and some god changed all the rules for a
short time then hid all the evidence and changed the rules back.
There is enough information from farmers alone to show that even had the

The history of wooden ships shows that nobody has ever built a ship near

Not exactly. The evidence for the first five books has four main separate
sources and only Deuteronomy is thought to be from one single writer. No one
has seriously challenged the idea in over 100 years.
"Who wrote the bible?" by Richard Friedman is a good place to start.

Genesis I and II are two separate stories from two sources.
Compare the two to see that the order of creation is different, especially
when it come to man. In Chapter one god creates mand and woman together. In
two he createsd man, then the animals and creates woman *only* after man has
not found a suitable "helpmeet"
This and the flood stories are examples of a doublet. Doublets and triplets
are common enough in the bible that scholars gave names to them.
I don't reconcile them and I don't think the people (or possibly a person)
who put them in had any reason to believe that they were anything but
stories of creation similar to many others of the time.
I don't believe the bible is the word of any god or gods.
