A European team claims to have obtained the first direct image of a planet
beyond our own Solar System.
The "extrasolar planet" is said to orbit a star called GQ Lup - thought to
be like a young version of our Sun.
Similar claims have been made in the past, but sceptical scientists believe
the pictures merely show objects that share the same view in the sky.
The GQ Lup object is far more certain claims Ralph Neuhaeuser's team in the
journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.
GQ Lup and its companion are located in a star-forming region about 400
light-years away.

No, it does not make sense to attack someone's faith,
especially when they never brought their faith into it
and never even mentioned God, yet that is what has been
happening in this thread. I made a purely scientific
statement. No one has ever seen a star being born.
That is a fact. So why are people not responding
affirmatively and instead, attacking and mocking my
faith? You're right, it doesn't make sense. :)

You're being typically disingenuous Dave, I have seen quite a few posts
that refute your claim and you have ignored them, instead, going for the
throat of anyone who ridicules you ....
For the record Painful Dave, the very same 'snapshots' of various stages
of a Stars supposed 'death' ( this is debatable as Stars don't actually
'die' )e.g Super Nova, Nebulae etc are seen for their birth. The only
difference being, that a Stellar Birth takes much longer and therefore
the stages are more subtly different. Search the Hubble Site, you can
find 'snapshots' of every stage in a Stellar Birth ..... if you have
enough time .... there are millions of pics ..... the theory to explain
this process is well understood these days ...
Your argument is stupid Dave, as is usual for you, people don't often
witness murders, but Forensic Science can prove who did it quite
regularly.... can you imagine a Murderer getting off because 'no one saw
it', despite all the compelling Forensic evidence to the contrary....
e.g. the Murderer was in the room at the time, his fingerprints are on
the gun, he has no alibi, he had a motive, he used the very same gun to
try and avoid arrest, a witness saw him rush out off the room
immediately after the shot was heard...... but no one saw him actually
kill the victim .... no one has ever seen an electron... does this mean
electricity is a lie ?
