However, Dr. Magness, as good as she is, does not possess Dr. Thiering's
comprehensive insight into what archaeology within Qumran Studies
really means.
Although the post wasn't OT, Inger did have a point -- here we go. Or
rather I hope there we don't go.
Doug,
we have seen him there before. That's what I have tried to tell Tom and
Eric - DC has nothing in his mind but to send PR for one of the worst
example of scholar I ever seen. Circleproofs, assumptions taken out of thin
air, referenses which aren't valid for the purpose they are presented etc
etc etc.

--->No one disputes Dr. Thiering's academic credentials.
--->I recommend checking the reviews on AMAZON.COM re: Dr. Thiering's books.
Furthermore, in over 20 years no person in the world, scholar or layperson,
has YET explained EXACTLY where Dr. Thiering has gone wrong in terms
of her Pesher lexicon & Solar Calendar. None proved remotely competent.
Indeed, she makes them think too hard.

I deplore the sneering attitude taken by Thiering detractors over the years.
It is disgraceful and unscholarly.
