Crouching Tiger (Official Crucifixion Nail Hammerer): My latest studies
indicate that Jesus was a funnymentalist sympathiser.
Lawless Mickey (Philistine Cheer Leader and now Official Nail Bearer): After
keeping on James and John as disciples, who wanted to call down fire from
heaven, I wouldn't be surprised.
Crouching Tiger: He seemed to speak approvingly of that Jonah fellow - you
know the one who was sent to preach against the wickedness of the people of
Nineveh
Lawless Mickey: Disgraceful! What a self-righteous one he was. Claiming to
be delivering a message from God that the city would be destroyed - how
judgemental. I'm sure there were lots of nice people in Nineveh just going
about their own business and trying to make a living. Where does he get off?
Crouching Tiger: It gets worse, Lawless Mickey. Jesus even referred to the
times of Noah in his discourses.
Lawless Mickey: I'd heard about that supposed "preacher of righteousness".
Hassling all those people about the right way to live. These people think
they know best - why don't they mind their own business.
Crouching Tiger: And then there was the time when Jesus referred to the
people as "an evil and adulterous generation".
Lawless Mickey: I'm surprised they didn't arrest him sooner saying all those
nasty things about the people.
Crouching Tiger: You should have heard the way he talked about the people of
Korazin, Bethsaida and Capernaum. He even said that Tyre, Sidon and Sodom
would receive a more bearable judgement than they were facing for failing to
repent.
Lawless Mickey: This is just too much.
Crouching Tiger: The Bible seems to be full of people announcing God's
judgement on those who continue to live in sin and fail to repent, and God's
grace and mercy for those who do turn back to him in faith.
Lawless Mickey: It sounds like those funnymentalists have changed the Bible
to make it say what they like.
