"cultural icon vs. Image of God" |
this is part of that bit on "Azazel's goat"
that i'm sure i've mentioned before.
it's just a summarized bit.
just look at it, and consider how much of
anyone's precious 'identity' is just a phantom
representation of the existing conditions.
and so, when you say things like;
"english is my religion"
you'll find that what you have done is
taken 'Azazel's goat' and elevated
-that- to be your Messiah.
you have taken a 'cultural icon'
and placed it in front of the Image of God.
a cutural icon that can -never- be the
Image of God simply because God is -not-
a sensory response to the
existing conditions.
same would be true for anyone
saying "jewish is my religion"
which also presents the difficulty
of proselytizing your cultural icon
above the Image of God.
and then people mistake your cultural icon
for the Christ/Messiah who is so aligned
with that Living God and can not be
contained in your cultural icon.
anyway;
just a brief bit; you can
go back to that obstacle
course similarity.
obviously, if you were confronted with some grand canyon
type separation, you would never even waste a single moment
contemplating getting across that thing if there was
nothing there but a different view of where you are now.
like, why should i even try to get thru over
or around this tremendous blockade just for
a cup of coffee and a cheap cigar.
skipping ahead...
alright, so now you've run across Jesus
and Jesus has planted a reason in your head.
but look, Jesus gave you a real self, and then
took that real self and placed it with
God in the Holiest of All Places.
so, your real self is already safe and secure.
and now all there is, is you, the shadow
of your real self, trying to unite
itself with your True identity.
and Jesus bringing the two together.
and that can be viewed as a process.
in short, Jesus will show you your True self
and bring -you- into alignment with -that-
not to be mistaken with jumping in front
of a bus so as to run off and be with God.
God will come to you, bearing Gifts.
and the greatest of these Gifts, is your True identity.
not some composite of the life experiences of demons
and devils and historic events and cartoons and book
reports and strawberry milkshakes and sunny days
and car wrecks and mud puddles and pretty blue eyes,
but a unique personality all your own and treasured by God.
one that can rise above the grave.
all that other stuff is just somebody else.
just ask yourself;
how much of what is "me", is a stream of memory
placed in my head by something external to "me"?
so, go ahead and describe
"yourself" to a blank
sheet of paper.
how much is;
I like strawberry iced cream
I like watching old movies.
i work at the dry cleaners.
i read the newspaper.
i write stories about Colorado Springs
i have a gambling habit
i listen to beethoven
i study fast reactions
i dig up buried cities in the desert
i draw pictures of scenery with no people in it.
etceterae etceterae etceterae
well, i don't see any description of -you- yet.
do -you- see a decription of -you- yet?
it may be funny, but, go ahead and
put the dark bag over your head,
and ask yourself,
"-now- who am i"
maybe before you run around
asking yourself "why" you are,
you had better figure out "what" you are.
"when" you are is right now.
"where" you are is right here.
"who" you are is the asker of questions.
"how" you came to be may help
you figure out "what" you are.
i'm nice.
i am nice
sure wasn't a whole lotta "me"
to die in the first place.
yeah, i know i know, these =circumstances=
are tricking -me- into holding on to a "life"
that was never "me" in the first place.
news at 11
but by 18 you're firmly entrenched into the delusion.
the hat tells you who i am.
i used to think it was the chair.
just sit in it and it tells you what to do.
you come in to a room, and it's empty, except for some chairs.
and it's the chair that defines who you are and what you do.
any poor dumb ***** can sit in the chair.
i got mad at a chair once and smashed it up into a dozen pieces.
now i fix furniture sometimes.
but i don't wear hats cuz they'd mess up my hair.
anyway, holding on to that "me" that
was never -you- in the first place,
essentially stands in the way of
becoming that "you" you never were.
can you anihilate nothing?
but anyway, if you get Jesus to help you
you can catch that "other" you
who ain't really you at all,
and pronounce all of your sins
over [him] and set [him]
free into the wilderness.
or just let [him] go.
that's Azazel's goat.
never was your's.
can't kill Azazel's you, cuz it never really lived.
only had the life you deluded yourself into granting it.
and your True self has already tasted death
and we want to vivify that thing in you.
roust you from that grave and check for vitals.
there's some fish and bread over on the grill.
like i said, this is a brief overview
of "cultural icon vs. Image of God"
such is to be eschewed no matter
-who- you -think- you are.

| Title: Justice and Mercy in Love |

we suggest that 'the law' is spiritual
'the law' is filled with many physical things,
that is, there are many physical things
with associated laws or statutes.
Moses veiled his face like a woman,
because Moses' face shone like light
was pouring from it.
Paul suggests that 'the law'
is covered in a veil.
Paul refers to law about oxen
as if it refers to a human being.
the flesh is a veil
Paul says the 'flesh mind'
cannot comprehend 'the law'
'the law' talks about the flesh
and material things a lot.
Jesus says; "beware of leavening"
as if this refers to "teachings"
those around Jesus think he's talking
about bread until he tells them that
he means "teachings"
how is your image of God portrayed
by physical material things?
how do you know when you are honoring
or elevating some other thing as God?
if God is not concerned for oxen
as they tread out grain, but man
why is 'the law' concerned with modesty?
what does uncoverning nakedness
have to do with God?
does God have 'weakness?'
Paul says the 'weakness of God'
surpasses man's strength
---
1 Corinthians 1:25
Because the foolishness of God is
wiser than men, and the weakness
of God is stronger than men.
---
psalmist says God is 'clothed'
in strength and righteousness
---
Psalm 65:6
Who established the mountains by
strength, Being clothed with power;
---
see also[Psalm 93:1-2 Psalm 104:1-2]
what is God's 'weakness'?
-who- could rightly call it 'weakness'?
just entertaining ideas,
for a moment, let's consider
Justice and Mercy separately.
Justice seems hard and fast and
maybe even a 'strong' attribute,
unrelenting in nature.
while Mercy could be construed
as a, somewhat more docile, even
'weak' and relenting quality,
-if- such a thing could be
said of a quality of God.
but look here;
---
James 2:13
For judgment is without mercy to
the one who has shown no mercy.
Mercy triumphs over judgment.
---
it's sort of like Justice guards and
protects Mercy as -if- Mercy were an
underlying 'weak' attribute, but that
this Mercy is the quality which
demonstrates Love.
Justice demands that you walk in Love,
Mercy shows Love and forgives shortfall,
and the two,
Justice and Mercy,
are United in Christ.
so, basically, -we-, human beings, would
never be able to consider a more docile
attribute of God as a 'shortfall'
so, when, and -if- we were to use the
term "weak" with referrence to God,
it would only be with respect to
our understanding of Mercy as an
attribute that is able to relent
and give, whereas Perfect Justice
-would- result in the inability of
-any- thing, even God's perfect Creation,
from ever being able to stand up to the
exacting signature which -is-
The Love which -is- God,
and so, this Mercy,
is an attribute, hidden in God,
which enables the demonstration
of God's Love even in the face
of Perfect Justice.
Perfect Justice which demands
that Love not be broken.
Mercy clearly shows that
YHWH is God and there is
no other God.
Mercy and Justice
Mercy and Justice -must- both
operate to perpetuate Love.
without 'the other' neither
will stand on its own as Love.
and 'the law' is an embodiment of Love.
the 'veil' does not cover the words,
but human understanding is dulled by
the demands of the flesh.
for some, the Union of Mercy and Justice
in Jesus Christ's life, death, burial and
resurrection is a visual object lesson
that YHWH -is- God, and there can be
no other God.

# ---
# 1 Corinthians 1:25
# Because the foolishness of God is
# wiser than men, and the weakness
# of God is stronger than men.
# ---
# for a moment, let's consider
# Justice and Mercy separately.
and obviously, Justice and Mercy
are not in opposition to each other,
Justice and Mercy are complementary.
and, the design will accomplish that
which Justice demands, and that is,
that you walk in Love, and show mercy.
like, Justice marches you towards Love,
and if and when you fall down on your way,
Mercy lifts you back up and sets you on
your feet and encourages you to
press on towards Love.
and that is the expected outcome,
that you reach that Love where you
no longer conflict with Justice
in any manner.
and Mercy never disappears,
because Mercy is a fundamental
component of Love, as is Justice.
so, we only -speak- of
'them' in isolation.
in God, 'they' are Love.

| Title: the spirit of Elijah |
16 Mar 2005 09:46:22 AM |

|
look at this bit about Elijah and Elisha.
look how they say;
"The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha."
===
2 Kings 2:9-11,..15
And so it was, when they had crossed over,
that Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask! What may
I do for you, before I am taken away from you?"
Elisha said, "Please let a double
portion of your spirit be upon me."
So he said, "You have asked a hard thing.
Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken
from you, it shall be so for you; but if not,
it shall not be so." Then it happened, as they
continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire
appeared with horses of fire, and separated
the two of them; and Elijah went up
by a whirlwind into heaven.
,..
Now when the sons of the prophets who
were from Jericho saw him, they said,
"The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha." <---
And they came to meet him, and bowed
to the ground before him.
===
here in Luke, we see a 'messenger of the Lord'
telling the father of John, Jesus' cousin, that
John will go before Jesus 'in the spirit of Elijah'
===
Luke 1:11-12,...16-18
Then an angelic messenger of the Lord
appeared to him, standing on the right
side of the altar of incense. And when
Zacharias saw him, he was troubled,
and fear fell upon him.
,..
And he will turn many of the children of Israel
to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him
in the spirit and power of Elijah, "to turn the <---
hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the
disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make
ready a people prepared for the Lord."
===
one may therefore suggest that John
spoke in the 'inspired voice of Elijah'
so far as to almost suggest that John -is-
Elijah even though Elijah was pulled
from among men and taken to God
centuries earlier.
===
Matthew 11:13-15
For all the prophets and the law prophesied
until John. And if you are willing to receive it,
he is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears
to hear, let him hear!
===
===
Psalm 89:19
Then You spoke in a vision to Your holy one,
And said: "I have given help to one who is mighty;
I have exalted one chosen from the people.
....etc.etc. David
===
and now look at Ethan's echoing of David
in the prophetic voice of David, and therefore,
representative of the 'inspired voice' of David,
just as Elisha carried on for Elijah.
===
Psalm 13:1 A Psalm of David.
How long, YHWH? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
-
Psalm 89:46
How long, YHWH? Will You hide Yourself forever?
-
Psalm 59:16 A Psalm of David.
....Yes, I will sing aloud of Your
mercy in the morning...
Psalm 89:1
I will sing of the mercies of YHWH forever;
With my mouth will I make known Your
faithfulness to all generations.
===
which is a forward echo of Jesus' statement
that he would send back a 'Paraclete' which
would speak of him, Jesus.
===
John 16:12-15
"I still have many things to say to you,
but you cannot bear them now. However,
when He, the Spirit of truth, has come,
He will guide you into all truth; for
He will not speak on His own authority,
but whatever He hears He will speak;
and He will tell you things to come.
He will glorify Me, for He will take
of what is Mine and declare it to you.
All things that the Father has are Mine.
Therefore I said that He will take
of Mine and declare it to you.
===
and Ethan does this very
same thing for David.
===
Psalm 89:3,20,35
I have made a covenant with My chosen,
I have sworn to My servant David.
I have found my servant David;
with my holy oil i have annointed him
with whom my hand shall be established
also, my arm shall strengthen him.
I have sworn by my holiness
I will not lie to David.
etc...
===
and now, the christian, should that christian
persevere, and work together with God towards
salvation, in much the same way as Paul says
of himself, should find themself speaking
in the Spirit of Christ.
which is exactly what a 'christian' is.
one who 'like Christ'
in such manner as Adam -never- became
from his tampering with covetous desires.
which, as some like to say;
'brings us full circle'
Just as Jesus says;
===
Matthew 10:24
"A disciple is not above his teacher,
nor a servant above his master. It is enough
for a disciple that he be like his teacher,
and a servant like his master.
=====
and now, we can be 'like God'
-as- God pours out The Holy Spirit upon us,
where personal effort will -always- fall short
aside from God, but only inasmuch as God -allows-
our personal efforts to bear fruit, do they, bear fruit,
so that the sum total of our 'boast' should there
ever be such boasting, rests solely in God, and
in that God is God, and there is no other,
and God alone is God.
so, when we overstep our station, we fall short
and when we sing all praises to God,
we stand in the day time.
et cetera...
