Plate Tectonics
Since this is such a new development in geophysics, creationists don't seem
to have much to say about it yet. (They haven't been told yet that they
can't believe in it.) Though they may not have heard it excoriated from the
pulpit yet, it surely makes them uneasy, since it just doesn't jibe with
young-Earth or Flood geology. Update: Creationists seem to have missed the
boat on the plate tectonics question. Since it was around for a number of
years without being denied by creationists, by the time they got around to
considering it, it was too late to deny (if it was wrong, why didn't they
say so from the start?). So recently I've seen several creationist attempts
to somehow work plate tectonics into their fantasy, and even use this
ultimate account of an ancient and evolving planet as proof of a recent
creation!
