DANGEROUS PROPHECIES OF HAL LINDSAY |
Most people watching Hal Lindsay on TBN do not realize how
dangerous his prophecies are. A lot of Christians are
unaware that Hal Lindsay served Ronald Reagan as a Middle
East and Israel advisor and the President was convinced
the world was about to end in a nuclear Armageddon.
In an interview with Garry Clifford and Patricia Ryan of
People Magazine December 6, 1983 President Ronald Reagan
was asked :
Q. Let me ask you a question out of that. In the Jerusalem
Post you were quoted -- and I don't know if the quote was
accurate -- as saying that this generation might see
Armageddon, that a lot of the Biblical prophecies are sort
of being played out today, or could be -- [inaudible].
Please read carefully what Reagan answered:
''I've never done that publicly. I have talked here, and
then I wrote people, because some theologians quite some
time ago were telling me, calling attention to the fact
that theologians have been studying the ancient
prophecies -- What would portend the coming of
Armageddon? -- and have said that never, in the time
between the prophecies up until now has there ever been
a time in which so many of the prophecies are coming
together. There have been times in the past when people
thought the end of the world was coming, and so forth,
but never anything like this.''
''And one of them, the first one who ever broached this
to me -- and I won't use his name; I don't have permission
to. He probably would give it, but I'm not going to ask ...''

Unfortunately nobody will ever know the details of the
prophetic advices Hal Lindays gave to Ronald Reagan,
nevertheless it is a well known fact the President
was absolutely convinced he was living the prelude to
Armageddon. Some readers may not be familiar with the
prophetic discourses Hal Lindsay used to have at that
time. After reading the quotes from Hal Lindsay's books
I pasted below, they will all understand why Reagan
was persuaded the end would come during his presidency.
''Jesus said that this would indicate that He was 'at the
door,' ready to return. Then He said, 'Truly I say to you,
this generation will not pass away until all these things
take place' (Matthew 24:34 NASB). What generation?
Obviously, in context, the generation that would see the
signs-chief among them the rebirth of Israel. A generation
in the Bible is something like forty years. If this is a
correct deduction, then within forty years or so of 1948,
all these things could take place. Many scholars who have
studied Bible prophecy all their lives believe that this is
so.'' (Hal Lindsay page 54 'The late Great Planet Earth'.)
''The decade of the 1980's could very well be the last
decade of history as we know it.'' (Hal Lindsay, page 7
'The 1980's Countdown to Armageddon')
Reading now the declarations Ronald Reagan made back then,
it is clear the President spent a long period of time
listening to the apocalyptic oracles of Hal Lindsay and
reading his books 'The late Great Planet Earth' and
'The 1980's Countdown to Armageddon'. Pervaded with the
belief of impending Armageddon Reagan said:
"Everything is falling into place. It can't be long now.
Ezekiel says that fire and brimstone will be rained upon
the enemies of God's people. That must mean that they'Il
be destroyed by nuclear weapons."
The Bible interpretations of Hal Lindsay made President
Reagan believe that Jesus would immediately come and the
nuclear Armageddon was inevitable. Analyzing the past made
me conscious of the Goodness and Greatness of God who in
His mercy prevented President Ronald Reagan from doing the
unthinkable. Thanks to the Lord we are still alive...
After putting the future of the human race and the whole
planet in danger, one would think that Hal Lindsay repented
of his prophetic teachings. Not at all, quickly consulting
his Armageddon Crystal ball, unrelenting Hal Lindsay wrote
more dangerous prophetic books.
''I remember saying to myself a little over 13 years ago
while writing the book, The 1980s: Countdown to Armageddon,
that if the Lord doesn't come by the mid 1990s, we'll be
able to see the end more clearly from there. And now
that we're here, wow, can we see it'' (Hal Lindsay page
164 of 'Planet Earth 2000 A.D.')
Not too long ago, I was visiting a friend and on the
television screen there was the expressionless face of
Hal Lindsay. While he was explaining his dangerous
prophecies, I was surprised noticing how inexpressive
his face was. Totally emotionless he kept talking and
talking about more dangerous prophecies. I looked at
his eyes, I had the strange feeling that I was looking
at a creature of steel. Any way let's go back to the
subject of this post, several years later remorseless
Hal Lindsay kept formulating more perilous prophecies:
'' In fact looking at the state of the world today,
I wouldn't make any long-term earthly plans. We may be
caught up to meet Christ in the clouds, between now and
then - just as I described in an earlier chapter. Could
I be wrong? Of course. The rapture may not occur between
now and the year 2000. But never before in the history
of the planet have events and conditions so coincided as
to set the stage for this history-stopping event... I
want to spend the final pages of this book discussing
what I expect to see happen in the hours and minutes we
have left.'' (Hal Lindsay page 306 'Planet Earth 2000
A.D.')
After reading one more time these dangerous words
I will simply conclude this article by saying, if this
is only the regular audience of TBN who is listening to
these prophecies, to a certain extent we ''may be'' safe.
Let's hope presently no political leaders are reading
Hal Lindsay's books or listening to his perilous
prophecies...

A danger in Hal Lindsey's prophecies is that the basic tenets of his
beliefs are contrary to the Bible .
So by putting forth seemingly reasonable explanations he is deceiving
millions .of people who under the umbrella of his prophecies feel
secure but are not !

===>But his "prophecies" are ENTIRELY based on the Bible -- a compilation
of
books sold to unwitting crowds as the "Word of God", when in fact it is
just
a collection of ideas, opinions, speculations and fantasies of MEN over
2000
years ago!
Unfortunately, once you accept that lie from a preacher, you can be
"proven"
ANYTHING. You are REQUIRED to accept it, no matter how absurd. -- L.

Yet I notice that we all survived intact, America is still here,
stronger than ever.
Evidently, even though Ron Reagan believed we were on the brink, he
still made wise decisions, and his confronting of the Communist
Fascists in Moscow brought down the Berlin Wall.
Not bad for a "Radical Right" President.
