A charter boat deck hand was reportedly killed Saturday by a 20-foot shark
as he snorkeled with tourists off the west Australian coast.

Media in Perth, Australia, reported the man was killed instantly in an
island group about 250 miles north of the Western Australia state capital.
"A 26-year-old deckhand was in the sea snorkeling with passengers of the
vessel when he was seen to be taken by a large shark described as being
approximately six meters in length," a police spokesman said, according to
the Australian Associated Press.
Police and government officials reportedly headed to the scene to
investigate the attack and try to recover the body.
It was not clear how many passengers and crew were aboard the boat but no
one else was attacked or injured, a police spokesman told The Associated
Press.
