Anyone can check the posting history of any alias at:

http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search

Only takes a second. Just cut the alias from the header
From line and paste it into the Author box and hit Search.

If the header is so screwed up that google can't deal with it,
then you know you've got a troll.

Generally, the upshot of this will be no returns on the
alias.

Killfile it.

Include all of the From: header contents, not just
the visible name. It's the Reply-To mailing address
(if any) that counts. Not the one in the From:
header. Trolls like to change that, unnecessarily, to
throw off searches.

If the post has no parent reference and says "Re:",
then killfile the alias. It's a troll fucking around
with the Reference headers.
