I am dismayed that I keep seeing a "Covenant"
defined as a promise. True, they are sorta related, but...
A "Covenant" is a *conditional* promise.
DEFINE "Covenant" - "Covenant" does NOT mean "promise!"

Read the Tales of Sheba, Daniel 9:, sorry but the "Bris, is a covenant between
the people and God, because of the Rape of a Chosen One.
It is not about cleanliness, it is about a promise, a "Covenant".
Love and Respect is what it is about, not "Property".
2 are Joined as One, a Partnership.
Not I one property or Chattel.
The 2 as One are a Force to be reckoned with.
One as owner and one as chattel, does not allow for that union of oneness.
A covenant is a contract, not a promise.

A covenant is a contract, not a promise.
It is dangerous and misleading to confuse a promise with a
contract. Particularly in the First Covenant, the Covenant
of the Rainbow, after the Flood, a contract between four
parties, God, Man, all the animals, and the Earth. Re-read
the First Covenant to see why. Gen 25, I think.
Quiz:
In daily life, how might it be dangerous to confuse a
promise with a contract?
How would one discern an oral promise from an oral contract?
