"Gold forms three sulphides corresponding to the oxides; they readily
decompose on heating. Aurous sulphide, Au 2 S, is a brownishblack
powder formed by passing sulphuretted hydrogen into a solution of
potassium aurocyanide and then acidifying. Sodium aurosulphide, NaAuS
4H 2 O, is prepared by fusing gold with sodium sulphide and sulphur,
the melt being extracted with water, filtered in an atmosphere of
nitrogen, and evaporated in a vacuum over sulphuric acid. It forms
colourless, monoclinic prisms, which turn brown on exposure to air.
This method of bringing gold into solution is mentioned by Stahl in his
Observationes ChymicoPhysico-Medicae; he there remarks that Moses
probably destroyed the golden calf by burning it with sulphur and
alkali (Ex. xxxii. 20)."

No real Jew would have lost the gold. It would have been recast into
shekels. There is no higher praise of God than money given to
priests. They then toss it into the air. God takes His cut; whatever
falls to the ground is for wordly goods like good Scotch, silken
raiment, limousines, and Astro-Glide.

Israel drink of it. And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people
unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them? And Aaron
said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people,
that they are set on mischief. For they said unto me, Make us gods,
which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought
us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And
I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So
they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this
calf.

Heavy metal poisoning from gold ingestion. Losing your kidneys in the
desert is not a good thing. Were these hopeless bastards so fucking
rich with leisure time that they figured out a way to pulverize the
most maleable metal? Tell us how to grind gold into a powder.

You're a senil, jadede dolt. Inert salts' /anions/ are the poison;
they are acidic poisoning. And what has a hammer to do with
/dust/-avoidance? So there is no such thing as gold dust, flake, or
mullock? Tin is softer than gold; surely someone could grind either
with a loofa. And gold's record as the most malleabil m=E8tal is
bunk--the elements that are near their melting point, and those already
liquid, should be more malleabil.
