Do Not Despair |
When the world had lost the true understanding,
the Lord showed the gospel, the way of salvation,
thru Martin Luther, the father of the Reformation:
Trust Christ alone for salvation as "your substitute"
so that he is your "righteousness and salvation".
That substitution of Christ to be our righteousness
as the only way anyone can ever receive salvation
was faithfully declared for the following 300 years.
Then the counterfeit against the gospel came thru
Charles Finney, the father of modern evangelism,
and he rejected the substitution as being "fiction"
and rather preached salvation by "devotion".
Such "salvation" by devotion is very popular now:
"make a commitment"; "make" the Lord, Lord;
receive "as Lord"; "surrender" in submission;
make a "decision for the Lord".
Devotion is right and proper,
but should never be trusted in for salvation.
For those who are just realizing what the truth is:
Do not despair, but take your trust for salvation
from off all else and place that trust on only Christ
to be your righteousness that you have eternal life.

Well I suppose I should leave you alone now, Frank,
but I'm afraid I couldn't ignore this one, because
it's so much about Martin Luther rather than
God and Jesus.
That has been my point all along. You say
the rest of us have put our faith in our churches,
our denominations, our ministers etc., but I think you're
demonstrating that you put your faith in Martin
Luther.
